Today makes a total of 3x i have been here first 2x I got chicken it was pretty good service was slow. Today I decided to go out on a limb and try something different BIG mistake. I decided to get the suppose have been cat fish and gizzards, suppose to be catfish fish was horrible and the gizzards barley have breading and wasnt seasoned at all I wanna give them another try cause I do like their chicken but the staff is not welcoming at all the girl that works the front she is nice and friendly other staff members not so much and im big on customer service, so if I go back again it’s gonna be a long while train your staff to look more welcoming. Oh and my fiance got the chicken and Mac and he said Mac was bland ♂️

My first time ordering food and I was highly disappointed. I ordered fried shrimp not fried slop. Very greasy, extremely salty, and overly battered the food was falling apart. I regret ever ordering from this place. Save your money and don’t order from this place.

Came here to try Catherine South food restaurant in Northwoods Mall. They are located nearby the Books A Million.
The staff is super friendly and helpful.
I tried the fried pork chop dinner with red rice and the Mac and cheese. I also tried the strawberry lemonade with tasted very delicious. The food was seasoned and very delicious. The meal tasted like Sunday dinner at a family house. With the meal also came. A slice of pound cake which was moist and sweet.

This is a soul food restaurant in the mall located by Burlington. My husband had eaten here once and had oxtails and said that he thoroughly enjoyed it. So I decided to try this place. One order was smothered chicken, Mac and cheese and corn. He also ordered a side of fried ribs. I had the fried porkchop with lima beans with pork and rice. My husband enjoyed the ribs but everything else was a disappointment. His smothered chicken was small drummettes with gravy and he said the taste was just okay he expected whole chicken parts like whole wings, legs etc. I had the lima beans and fried porkchop. The porkchop was not cooked all the way through and very soft. I had to put them in the air fryer when u got home to be properly cooked. The lima beans were old and mushy as if they were cook3d days ago and were left over. I am a foodie but I was highly disappointed in this food. We also tried the lemonade and if you’re a diabetic it will shock your system. I am a diabetic and I was not a happy camper. I will not eat here again. I am not sure if this wasn’t a good day but they need to revamp the menu and offer fresh servings of thoroughly cooked food. The crazy part is the food was $63 which was a total waste of money.

I was offered food from this establishment on Christmas eve. The choices sounded good. I decided on shrimp or a fish sandwich. When tasting my plate. I immediately frowned my face. The fries were burnt. No one should even be serving fries that looked the way they did. My fish sandwich was disgusting. All I could taste was fish with no seasoning whatsoever. My significant other had the fried shrimp with red rice. The shrimp didn’t even look like shrimp and wasn’t fried thoroughly. I don’t even eat everyone’s red rice due to me making it for years and it being perfect. This red rice had no taste as if tomato sauce was poured all over rice with added sausages. We were appalled and it was money wasted. I never have to eat from here again. It was complete trash.

I was in the mall shopping and I stopped by Catherine’s Soul food restaurant in Northwoods Mall. They are located next to Books A Million and Burlington. The food was season to perfection and cooked with love.
I had the fried chicken (all flats) with Lima beans with smoked neck bones and pigtails over with rice and a pound cake. The pound cake was moist and sweet.
The staff is SUPER friendly, helpful, GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT
