I stopped by the Island Jerk food truck to grab dinner for my boyfriend, who’s Jamaican and extremely picky about authentic flavors. Let me tell you—this place BLEW US AWAY.
He loved everything. The rice and peas were perfectly seasoned, the brown stew fish was rich and flavorful, the fish soup tasted like island bliss. We also had the festival and cabbage which were spot on. Every single dish was delish, even the mac & cheese. Everything was clearly cooked with love and skill.
If want REAL Jamaican food, this is the spot. Island Jerk just earned two new loyal customers! ️

Fantastic Caribbean food. Super moist jerk chicken and extra spicy curry goat! The steamed cabbage also had a satisfying crunch. Prices may seem a bit high, but the portions are great, you will not be left hungry. Definitely enough for multiple meals or even to share.

Way to much ginger on curry chicken and the gravy for the oxtail was thick with a lot of fat on them also the mac&Cheddar didn’t have much flavor Yellow taste like Chinese rice.

I was cautious, because the price seemed a little high. Caribbean Mac N Cheese is usually mid, but this Mac n cheese is well seasoned and cheesed. As for the price, the plate was heavy. Definitely worth the price. 9.3/10. I had the Jerk chicken and my friend had the brown stew chicken. Definitely wanted more char on the chicken, but it was fire. Rice and peas 10/10.

To everyone out there, if you love Jamaican Food or have never tried Jamaican Food like myself you have to stop at Authentic Island Jerk and grab you a plate of this delicious food! My husband and I like to pick different food trucks every other Friday and we are so glad we stopped here, will be our go to for now on. We got the Jerk Chicken with Rice and Peas with Mac N Cheese.. and it was so delicious, the seasoning and sauce was on point We also bought their signature sauce for $7! You can’t beat that! Having lived in Jamaica for many years, I’m very particular when it comes to authentic Jamaican food. This place is by far the best I’ve had in Florida. The flavors are true to the island—rich, well-seasoned, and cooked with care. You can tell the food is made the way it’s supposed to be, not watered down or “Americanized.” It brought me right back to my time in Jamaica. If you’re looking for real, authentic Jamaican cuisine, this is the spot. Highly recommend!
