St. Drogo’s Coffee and Bakehouse is located at 7514 S. State Street, Lowville, NY, aka, the Old Jail. Through the aid of public as well as private funding, upon acquiring the property in 2021, Tug Hill Artisan Roasters has set about revitalizing the property. As of to date, the downstairs of the Jail is in operation as the home to Tug Hill Artisan Roasters, St. Drogo’s Bakehouse and Saladvantage. In the roastery there is a fully functioning coffee bar featuring pour over coffees as well as espresso based drinks. Soon, we will have multiple cold brew coffees on tap. Across the hall is the bakery where different pastries as well as sourdough loaf bread, sourdough spelt bread, challah bread and a Russian black bread are baked daily. Saladvan

Love this place! This is literally the ONLY bakery besides some spots in NYC hubby and I can find Russian Black bread and buckwheat bread, everything they make is delicious. I just wish there were more dairy free options for pastries since I’m lactose intolerant.

Great coffee spot especially for Lewis County! We’ve been buying bagged coffee from them since they opened and the new shop is very nice if you have time to sit down.

I had the spinach danish for breakfast and bought the quinoa sweet potato bowl for lunch and I can’t pick my favorite! You can tell it was made with care and from scratch soooo delicious. The danish was so cheesy and filling. The bowl I really enjoyed the sauce that came with it! The two employees were very friendly and chatted easily! Smells like fresh bread!

A jewel in the area. Drogo’s and Tug Hill Roasters are outstanding in every way – outstanding coffee, fresh roasted coffee beans to take home, delicious sandwiches, and outstanding breads. I have their coffee beans every morning in my espresso machine, and stopped ordering online because I can get better beans right here at home. And my family was raving over the garlic sourdough bread all week.

Please stop by, and support this amazing business.

Well priced and amazing value. The back end knows their craft well. From coffee to the baked goods. Definitely going to be a regular stop. Milk temp was on point. Well crafted.
The place was so good, we gobbled everything up before we could take a picture…

The people and atmosphere are great. The coffee is wonderful and they have a great variety of things to munch on. The newly renovated location is incredible and I’m happy to see more people trying to revitalize areas of our small community like this.

I was also shown a jail-themed mini apartment that they rent on AirBnb which would be worth trying if you’re from out of town!

I have a severe gluten allergy…. This place is amazing with it. Their staff always change their gloves and wipe down everything not to mention I never have to ask because it’s always done. Food is so amazing and the smell of the fresh bake bread when you walk it…. No words to how mouth watering it smells. What I love most is their tea and coffee selection. It is my husband’s and my new favorite breakfast date place. Not to mention the pricing is perfect. So glad we discovered this place!!!!

Cute place. Overpriced bakery items. Cheese danish was very good. Iced Americano was the worst I’ve ever had. Very watered down, no flavor. It’s espresso…make them strong! My party also ordered a hot mocha latte. It was not hot. Even after they took it back and made it again, it was not hot. It was a to go order that came out as an eat-in order. Very friendly staff…until something was wrong with the order. Strange policy on not serving iced drinks on Mondays? To me that’s just an opportunity to lose business and alienate customers, but to each his own.
