We used No1 Cockleshed as a venue for my 60th birthday. They stepped in when we were let down at short notice by the original venue and honestly, they could not have done more for us! They were so helpful and we couldn’t fault the service both before and during the party. They were able to accommodate guests that had dietary requirements and the food was delicious. We wanted a cocktail themed party and they didn’t let us down! The venue looked great, which they set up for us, which meant that we could enjoy ourselves. They simply took the worry away and nothing was too much trouble.
Highly recommended if you want to hold a private function!

Our first time coming in since the restaurant changed from Simply Seafood to No1 Cockleshed many years ago.
The restaurant has always been somewhere we wanted to go back to, but due to its pricing we haven’t been able to until now.
We managed to secure an outside table in the shade as it was a very hot day!
We decided to treat ourselves to the seafood platter, which was delicious and amazingly presented. My first time trying oysters, and I was pleasantly surprised! Will definitely be having more after this.
For desserts we had a lemon tart and a creme brûlée, and that was probably the best creme brûlée I’ve ever tasted. 10/10!
All in all a wonderful afternoon! The music was also really good and modern, and we loved the covers of some of the well-known tracks.
The only point we felt could have been improved was the attentiveness of the staff – they were all very friendly and helpful, but would leave us for ages before coming over to take orders for things, so we often had to flag them down to progress our meal etc.

Visited last night, and had some warm and friendly service. We had a selection of tapas, everything was decent, the wife really enjoyed the crab and cockel croquettes. Nothing really stood out for me , although the chicken skewers weren’t bad at all. The cockel pops were nice but needed more of the chilli vinegar. Overall a good experience nothing wrong just nothing really zinged for me, a nice place and location, will comeand maybe try the mains next time.

Thanks very much to Chris and the team for hosting a fantastic party. Everyone loved the venue – the staff were so helpful before, during and after the event. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was arranged well to accommodate all our guests with enough seating and tables for the older folk, and space for the band and dancing. We all had a wonderful time and thoroughly recommend the venue to anyone who is hosting a celebration.

Had a lovely lunch. Ordered lots of picky bits and the food was good. Found a couple of the dishes a bit bland – the patatas bravas and I was disappointed that the halloumi was deep fried. But the seafood was all delicious.
Great views too, lovely little patio and all the staff were very friendly and helpful.
There is a car park right next door which is useful.

After hearing rave reviews over the quality of their fish expertise, I was actually reluctant to order the Xmas menu for the work do.
Boy oh boy, was I happy to have my assumptions destroyed. The best Christmas dinner I’ve had outside of my mums!
We were a bit of a rowdy lot, and the team were patient and showed off fantastic hospitality.
I rarely leave feedback on Google, but when businesses go above and beyond, it’s the very least I can do.
I will be back for fish in the new year! ✌️

An excellent all round experience. The food was very fresh, well cooked and presented. The service was very attentive and good to see people with a smile.
My only suggestion would be to make it really clear when some of the ingredients are Local. E.g. include a list of local suppliers (if applicable) and really emphasise the produce, because it was great quality.
