I absolutely LOVED this restaurant. The food, the staff, the environment, are all *chef’s kiss’* you just walk in and sit wherever you like. The food is full of love and seasoning! I got barbecue chips and ranch on the side and the pairing was impeccable, from spicy to creamy! Now I had to have dessert of course since you Cannoli live once and it was perfection! Just the way I like it. I will be back!

I went to Vortex Bottle Shop in Harrisburg tonight and let me just say WOW.
– Blackened shrimp and artichoke dip – 10/10 worth the drive alone. The bread was covered in delicious olive oil and flavorful to pair with the dip. The shrimp taste didn’t overpower the dish thank god. And my bf and I devoured it quickly.
– Vortex wings – 10/10 HUGE and juicy wings that are fresh. We got hornet’s sauce which is like hot honey and cajun garlic parmesan. My bf said these might be the best wings he’s had in Harrisburg.
– Fiery chicken pimento sandwich. 10/10 Bread-meat-bread-meat-bread. A chunky sandwich but sooo tasty.
– Bbq chips were way overseasoned 4/10. Kettle style.
– Chicken hawk – 10/10 I’ve never had a chicken salad sandwich but the lightly toasted bread was a great choice with the chicken salad, veggies, and bacon inside. I was too full to finish at this point!!
– Caesar salad – 3/10. Not really a caesar salad, I didn’t have caesar dressing and it looked like the same veggie mix inside my sandwich was put in a metal bowl; I’ll pick a different side next time
10/10 would recommend coming here!

I have never had a bad experience here. The beer selection always has something for everyone, as does the wine selection. The menu is top-notch. Nothing is frozen here; fresh food makes all the difference, and you can taste it in every item they serve. They have indoor and al fresco seating, and soon they will expand into the storefront next door and have even more to offer. I am sure it will meet the high standards already in place. Stop by for a pint and a bite; you’ll be glad you did.

After an extended wait at the nearby DMV tag office, I stopped here for lunch. I ordered a Big Dipper sandwich with kettle chips. Service was quick and pleasant; they didn’t have many other patrons on-site at the time of my visit.This sandwich had savory sliced sirloin and as suggested from the waitress, mozzarella cheese. The sandwich had plenty of fresh toppings that paired well with the protein.The fact that the bread was nicely toasted took the sandwich to another level. The kettle chips were of good quality and met my crunch desire. Dining room note:The dining area had all high top tables and a bar, but there is outside seating for patio style dining.

I recently visited this establishment for the first time and was impressed by the atmosphere. Jake and Haley provided excellent, friendly service. I enjoyed the “Big Dipper” sandwich with au jus, kettle chips with house-made ranch, and the cilantro slaw. The meal was excellent, and while the $22 price point could be considered (just the meal itself), I have no complaints. The house-made ranch was particularly noteworthy, with a flavor profile similar to tzatziki sauce. I would recommend this location, especially for those interested in wine and beer.

After we had attempted two other local spots and they either were closed with no notice or ignored us while waiting to be seated, we ended up walking over to Vortex. I wasn’t expecting a lot (no fault of there’s was just already a day) but as soon as we walked in were greeted. Staff was friendly and super attentive. We got the garlic portobello flatbread, Crispy Fried Chicken Biscuit add egg and the Bacon Egg and Pimento Cheese Biscuit. All sooo good and flavorful. My husband said he thinks he has a new breakfast favorite. We will definitely be back.

The BLT here is amazing. It’s unique with the added house bacon jam & cilantro ranch on toasted sourdough. Plenty of beer & wine selections. Great spot for apps, glass of wine and a yap session with your bestie!
