A real Mexican food menu rather than Tex Mex. Lots of vegetarian options along with plenty of meat and seafood choices. Had a hard time choosing. Great service with flexible substition, which was very much appreciated. Large portions at a reasonable price. The only downfall was the flavor, a tad bit blend. Needed to add sauce to my sandwich for flavor. I’d still go back.

High praise for the tacos here, which are just as good as the original in DC. They do not skimp on the fillings which are seasoned and cooked to perfection, and piled nicely on two of their signature paper thin tacos. The tongue (middle) is the star here.
The restaurant is about twice the size of the original, with a swanky bar. Staff are friendly and provide good recommendations.

I loved it ! Mexican food isn’t my go-to but the food here may have changed that. I didn’t think I would love it as much as I did. Also I ate off my friend’s plate too! It wasn’t the camera eyeing her food…it was me (Don’t judge me ).

We had an amazing experience at this wonderful local Vienna restaurant. How long we have waited for excellent Mexican food !! The chef came out and spoke with us personally, and made us feel so welcome, and wanted to ensure we were very pleased with our choices. And amazing margaritas, made the correct way, all limes and lots of tequila !! We will be back every week!!

Don’t let the parking lot construction stop you from going here. The food and service were great. Even ordered margaritas to-go! So good! Ordered so much food one of the guys helped me with the doors hahaha so sweet. They are following sanitation and masks guidelines. Also have a very nice outdoor seating area when is not raining. Will definitely be back and recommend to anyone looking for great Mexican food. Thank you El Sol team for the great experience.

Found this place on yelp and went for dinner one night since it’s close to where we live.
The restaurant seemed understaffed, there were 3 tables where guests had left but were not cleaned off yet. Our table was clean but the couch-like chairs were very dirty + crumbs everywhere on/in the creases and oil marks. The server was very pleasant but was just challenging to be efficient with one person.
We tried fajitas and tacos – both were ok but nothing to rave about. Not a spot we’d come back to..but had high hopes.

I would like to start off by saying: “The margarita and the food that did arrive were awesome!” El Sol Vienna, Virginia location had the opportunity to knock it out of the ballpark on opening weekend. This community craves a great Mexican restaurant. That did not happen on opening Saturday weekend. Shame on the owners! The restaurant was understaffed, had unqualified servers who were overwhelmed, no wine available (yet on the menu), the kitchen could not meet the demand for the volume of diners. We were a party of 5, drinks took 2 reminders before they came out. Oh and the server never asked if we wanted another round. We asked several times for chips and salsa. Our table orders came out in 20 minute increments, yet never included my wife’s meal, the side of beans/rice never came and the guacamole was forgotten too. My message to the owners- do not get defensive, get your act together or you will not last.

My family and I went on their second day of being open. Yes, there were some mishaps with our order and the service but the food was excellent! Everything we tried was great, from the freshly baked chips to the queso fundido. We’re always skeptical when ordering micheladas but the bartender nailed it. The menu is a nice change of pace from the typical Tex Mex/New Mexican options we have in the area. I fully expect the service to improve with time and we can’t wait to go again to explorer the rest of the menu.

Absolutely delicious food. Everything tastes made to order and it was so authentic and good. Just moved to the area from Texas so I’ve been dying for some good Mexican food. This is my new spot for my mole and queso fundido cravings. Will definitely be back!!! Take your family here, get a tamarindo and enjoy the food.
