Comfy, art-lined cafe in a restored Victorian hotel offering classic American eats & full bar.

Walked into a nearly empty restaurant, waited about 10 minutes for us to be seated. Seated and were informed to fill our own cups. Breakfast took about an hour to arrive after ordered and was served on paper plates? As far as the food, I’ve never had to cut a pancake with a knife before, so that was a first. Prices do not reflect food or service quality.

Awesome little cafe for a “just like moms cooking” breakfast. Very casual atmosphere, with food even served on paper plates!
We had breakfast here on a slow Tuesday morning, so our waitress was also our hostess and also our chef. Jack of all trades!
The servings were large and just what we wanted.
Definitely recommend for an easy casual simple breakfast.

Hometown, feel like a local cafe perfect for breakfast or to grab that morning mimosa. Very simple meals on paper plates but they are fresh, and delicious. The staff are very friendly and there is a gift shop area for any last minute shirts you may need while visiting the area. It’s also attached to a casino.

We were sat at 9:15am. We received our breakfast at 11am. I spoke with the host about this as the entire restaurant had a 180 turnover. I assumed they had forgotten our order. He said “we have a new cook and she cooks one meal at a time. Leave a bad google reviewing if you don’t like it.” So here I am…..My comment to him was that was fine but how did the entire restaurant turn over if our order was placed in advance. He tried to blame our server who was clearly working hard and attentive to the table and asked for our order multiple times. I sat $45 on the table for the meal we never received and left. Please acknowledge your shortcomings and correct them vs. blaming your help for lack of service. The table next to us has been here an hour and are ready to leave as well: serve on paper plates- fine, but if you cannot provide service AT ALL that is another matter. Shame on you. This is a photo of my “fresh squeezed orange juice mimosa.”

The breakfast was great! I got a breakfast croissant and hubby got biscuits and gravy with sausage.
The sausage patties are hand formed. The gravy is made from scratch. It was all just a great home cooked meal.
If you have to wait for a table…it is well worth it. I don’t go around saying that cause I hate waiting.
Go there! You won’t regret it!

Unfortunately, I was misled about the pancakes. The pictures online are from your back when they clearly had different recipe’s, cooks, standards.
The waitress was definitely very nice though, but overall service was just subpar. I mean for being stuck in Deadwood the food was OK I guess just. Its seen better days to day the least. It’s a cool historic building in town but other than that.
If I could take it back and go to a different place for breakfast that day I would.

Passing through Deadwood, we wanted to grab some breakfast. Having parked near the main drag, we found Lee St. Station and saw that they had outdoor seating. It was a beautiful day out (though a gust of breeze blew one of the other tables’ umbrella into the street!), so the fresh air was inviting. Our waitress was super friendly and nice to our girls (7 and 10). The food was delicious and there was plenty. The coffee was self-serve. It was around 10 am, so the outdoor makers were out, so we had to go inside to keep filling up – not a big deal, but just different enough to note. My country fried steak breakfast was really good. The kids loved their standards – big pancakes, scrambled eggs, and incredibly good sausage. The 7 y/I was really impressed with the perfectly-buttered toast. Either she is easy to impress or they really did it right! (Trust me – she is NOT easy to impress!)
On a week-plus long road trip with lots of stops and meals at various places, this was one of my faves. Beautiful day, friendly service, yummy breakfast food.

Very good breakfast. Not over-priced, adequate portions and very good food. The hand made sausage patties were delicious as was the green chili smothered burrito. Green chili was homemade and definitely the best green chili I’ve had at a restaurant in a long time.

Living in AZ for a long while, I’m always in search of good southwest style food.
The green chili was amazing! Great flavor, loved it! The waitress was very friendly. The atmosphere is quaint and yes, they used paper plates no big deal.

The food is served on paper plates, dispossble cups for coffee and tea. I dont like to eat off paper plates ever and this was a first in a restaurant. I was surprised but not a breaker IF this is done to reduce COVID infection risk however since we and everyone else digs our own utensils out of a bucket and serve our own drinks from a fountain machine, I doubt this is the case. As for the food, I wish I could find something positive to say besides I’m positive it was awful. Everything was cold and not just a little cold either. The seating area we were in would catch the draft from the entry door but it had not opened between our food being served and our 1st bite (seconds after we got our plates) so thats not why the food was cold. It had to have been sitting a while. The bacon only taste was salt and too overwhelming to eat. There was a grease/oil substance on all of the food (eggs. Hashbrowns, toast) as well. I can’t describe the taste, it was bland and odd; not really a flavor at all and it was slippery and gross as it stuck to our tongues. The potatoes and eggs were bland and greasy because of it. The toast was cooked on the same oily grill which resulted in a bland and oily toast that had a tough and chewy consistency. Needless to say we took a few bites but could not stomach eating it. Our appetites were ruined and since several people sitting around us were eating the same breakfasts had food that looked the same as ours we decided against having them replace our plates with fresh hot food we’d likely not eat. We paid for it anyway and went on our way. If they used a better butter/oil product and significantly cut down on how much they used we’d probably give them another try when we are in the area again but cooked as it is now. we do not intend to return. Every experience is different, factors such as short staffing (not sure if this was the case), time of year (May), or a new cook (again, no idea) are all possible reasons for our experience so be warned, know what to possibly expect but decide for yourself and share how it went. I’m curious to know if we just went on an off day or if this is the norm.
