Outstanding Valentines Day dinner. This ribeye was cooked to perfection a top a mountain of delicious mashed. My fiance had the baked haddock, fresh and very tasty, with a side of sweet potato fries that were the best I’ve ever had. Incredible atmosphere and amazing staff. So many other great options on the menu and crafty cocktails.

We really really wanted to love this place! We decided to join for brunch. The small plates would have been fine if we were able to get them! The restaurant was filled and it appeared only two waitstaff were working. There were other team members running the food but the staff was definitely scrambling. We were 15 minimum early for our reservation but we were seated immediately. 15 minutes later one of the runners brought us water. Another 10 awkward minutes passed before our server ran passed and said she would be right with us. Placed our first order, food was good, It had to wait another 10 to 15 minutes before we could place another order. This was also because our server recommended only order max two small plates at a time so our food would be hot. We noticed that we hadn’t gotten the potatoes or bread that were the sides. The only sides I might add that were included in the brunch. There were sides like bacon and sausage for an additional 6 dollars. I took a chance and ordered a side of Lobster. For the 18 dollars I paid, I would have been happy if it were not like paste. I ordered a second coffee which never came, one of my husbands small plates showed up by another server as we were waiting for our receipt. At that time the restaurant was almost empty but the server was never able to recover. They were clearly overwhelmed. Please support your servers, we felt badly for them. Maybe some type of signaling system when your guests are ready to order again? Or let your guests choose all through an app that includes a timer so that the kitchen gets the next round 10 minutes or so. You have a lovely spot and the food was good. You need more wait staff to retain guests.

Wow we were in Newburyport for a show and saw this place so cool….. we got calamari & Ceaser salad and spaghetti and meatballs all 1/2 off …. the server was awesome. She made great suggestions …. my date got shrimp scampi …. so fresh and the plates are too much good food. Linda our server got us in and out so quick !! I love this place

Booked a reservation on a Thursday for the coming Friday night and thought it was odd that they had many times available but thought we’d give it a try for our anniversary. (Ignored the first red flag). Walked in for our 7:30 pm reservation the weekend before Thanksgiving and the bar was filled but restaurant was desolate to say the least. (Husband mentioned leaving in a joking manner but we probably should have) . The server was lovely, upbeat and energetic. Had recommendations and we took them. Unfortunately they weren’t the best but possibly were the best they had to offer.
I had the filet for around $67/69 and it was overdone and had no flavor (to be fair, we didn’t mention our dissatisfaction with it because we just wanted to enjoy the night and not stress about the meal). My husband had another steak option that came recommended, CHURRASCO, unfortunately not a hit either. Ventured out and tried the cheesecake that came highly recommended from the server…, not good at all, my husband is someone who usually doesn’t comment on a dessert because they are a “dessert” but his comment was that it was “awful”.
The service was great and drinks were average.
The prices were RIDICULOUS for what we received. Spending around $200-275 for a meal for two and walking out questioning everything ……
Will not be returning

The Mission Oak Grille was an excellent choice for my daughter’s 21st birthday with a party of 8 adults. The drinks were good the food was even better! Our waitress was amazing with drink suggestions. Our daughter went with the raspberry mojito, which was so yummy! We did have one meal where the steak was overcooked, but they immediately removed it from the bill when it was realized my son did not eat it. We did not even have to mention it. They took our cake right away and brought it back with lit candles as we all sang. Our waitress took the cake out back had it cut up and brought out a slice for each of us. The service was impeccable. We have since recommended it to friends and family. We will definitely come again!

Menu was fine. Service was pretty good. The food and cocktails weren’t great. Every dish at the table was meh……. Chicken tenders were good actually!! For the prices they charge, I expect better execution.

Food was ok. Ordered calamari which was tough to bite and had more hot pepper rings than calamari. The haddock was a decent portion – ower a bed of spinach that didnt really taste like anything with a glob of mashed potatoes. However for the money, very good value. Service was friendly and attentive.

We’ve recently had dinner and a Saturday brunch at Mission Grill and enjoyed it very much. Food was excellent, and service was so friendly and accommodating—much more so than other Newburyport restaurants. The weekend brunch offers a variety of small plates, allowing you to try a number of dishes.
And the prices are more reasonable than many other comparable Newburyport restaurants.

Celebrating a family birthday. Food was mixed; delish lobster Rangoon, salty French onion soup, cold meatball Parmesan and a burger that didn’t get delivered until the rest of the party had almost finished their meals ( flagged down 2 waitstaff to get the burger) and had to ask for water – took forever. Maybe understaffed but no recognition of delays or any comp on the bill. Actually charged for 3 meals that belonged to another party. Not impressive.
