Reviews
The temporary v had a great breading, heavier then normal, but very tasty and crisp. The salmon sashimi was fresh. The tofu was very well prepared.
Thanks!
The menu offers a fantastic variety, from classic sushi rolls to flavorful hibachi dishes, making it easy to find something for everyone, even for picky eaters. The kids loved watching their meal being prepared at the hibachi grill, and the chef’s fun tricks kept them entertained throughout.
Each dish was fresh and beautifully presented, with authentic flavors that transported us right to Japan. We highly recommend the teriyaki chicken and shrimp tempura—both were simply outstanding.
The staff was incredibly attentive and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable dining experience. We left feeling satisfied, happy, and eager to return. If you’re looking for a family-oriented spot in Georgetown with delicious Japanese cuisine, Sapporo is a must-visit!
We looked at the menu knowing we could order quickly, but instead of being given a moment, the server stood nearby hovering and watching us. Then another staff member came over asking if we needed help with the menu (we didn’t—we were ready) and told us we needed to hurry because they were closing. Being pressured twice while seated made the experience uncomfortable and unwelcoming.
What made this even more confusing was that there were other tables still actively eating around us. A restaurant can’t truly be “closed” until those guests are finished and out of the building—were they planning to rush or kick them out too?
I completely understand preparing for dinner service and wanting to close on time, but if that’s the case, don’t seat new guests. I would have been much more accepting if we were simply told upon arrival that they were no longer seating.
To top it off, we only ordered a $4 beer, which already had gratuity automatically included, and were still prompted to tip on top of that. The entire experience felt rushed, poorly managed, and unnecessarily tense.
Very disappointing experience and not one I would return for.
The service was attentive and everything came out quickly.
We just ordered sushi and food from the kitchen- we didn’t do hibachi. The sushi was ok- the rolls weren’t overly huge and we weren’t wowed by anything, but we will definitely come back and try again. I took off a star because everything on our table was sticky and it seemed like it could’ve used a rinse/wipe down. But it wasn’t a deal breaker. We will see you again, Sapporo.
