Piano music . The pub had a great atmosphere.
Beautiful views during the day great for weddings.
Be prepared to spend a lot
Local crowd, amazing views and absolutely delicious food. We sat at the bar side since it was more casual, but they do have a restaurant that looks perfect for a night out or a celebratory dinner. The restaurant side menu is available at the bar.
My boyfriend said it was the best seafood chowder he’s ever had. I had the asparagus and goat cheese salad and was over the moon with it. We enjoyed it all so much we decided to get dessert too and we’re not disappointed!! We thoroughly enjoyed it all and the experience!!
We have been there several times and always been 100% happy with it.
Staff are very helpful also.
Highly recommended.
From the start to finish, Brian and wedding Co-ordinater Pauline were absolutely amazing!
The planning process was easy and smooth. We wanted a unique venue with great food, views of the sea and mountains and honestly couldn’t have chosen a better venue! Our guests said the food was one of the best they had at any wedding. Cod and Steaks cooked to perfection and amazing service! Thanks again to all the staff for such an amazing day!
Mainly a fish / seafood menu. Felt the starters were a bit pricy for what one got, but absolutely delicious, as we’re the main courses.
The Georgina Campbell hospitality guide to Ireland has named Jack’s as Seafood Restaurant 2017.
Dinner for me started with Oysters Kirkpatrick; fresh oysters cooked with bacon and finished with Tabasco and Worcestershire Sauce. Simple, spicy and delicious.
I followed this with the king of fish, Turbot, which was pan roasted with cabbage (classically Irish), Aubergine and purple Carrot. The flesh was perfectly cooked and tasted as though it had jumped straight from the ocean to the plate. As with dinner at Dingle, a load of other vegetables were served on the side. It seems easily possible to consume the recommended 5 a day in one sitting in Ireland.
For pudding I had the lightest cheesecake I’ve ever had. After all that veg I needed something that wasn’t too heavy and this didn’t disappoint. The flavours of raspberry, ginger and lemon sang out individually and blended together in a very pleasing way.
I’ll definitely return here next time I’m in Kerry for the local food prepared with care and skill and served with a smile and occasional song.
From then on, the venue for the big day was never a concern.
Dealing with Pauline, Brian and all the team was effortless.
The flow of the day was perfect, the food and atmosphere were extremely special, and all of guests agreed. To have JP on the piano throughout the day (including the ceremony) elevated the venue into the top tier wedding venues, and the fact we also got the weather, made this seaside venue unforgettable.
A special mention again to JP for his piano skills, he was able to play any song we wanted, and to be fair he did tell us he’d have to practice one song…that took 30 seconds and he was good to go!
The food and service were flawless, from the canapés, to the main event and the night time nibbles, all mouth watering.
If you’re still considering your wedding venue, just talk to the folks in Jack’s first before you make any other decisions! Thanks again to everyone involved, including those back of house on the day we never get to meet, we’ll be talking about it for the rest of our lives. Bref & Jer xx
