My family had a great experience eating here. The service was on point. They were very attentive. We not once had to ask for a refill on drinks or extra chips and salsa. The food came out really fast. The food was priced appropriately. We had 5 of us and our bill was $109 with everyone having sodas. They do have a cash only as payment which I can see a turnoff for some. But there is a ATM inside the business. If I lived in town I could give a better review on the food. I myself had a tamale, enchilada with rice and beans. I personally enjoyed it. The rest of my family enjoyed their plates as well. But had a hard time finishing due to large portions. So bring your appetites. Or be prepared to box up the rest to enjoy later.

With so many places to choose from, we decided on dining in for some Mexican food. They have a very large selection of items so it did take some time to decide on what to actually order. There’s a basket of fried tortillas that you do need to break up before dipping into the salsa. We ordered the shrimp fajitas plate that were served without vegetables, as requested that came with rice and beans. A wet burrito that was big enough to be split and shared with an a la cart shrimp soft taco. Everything was delicious and we really enjoyed the alcoholic beverages that were served with lime and chili. The staff really interacts with their patrons to make sure everyone is getting what they need. The empty dishes are cleared as soon as the staff sees them and the tables are cleared right away after people leave. The prices are pretty standard and the atmosphere was very friendly with the Olympics being shown on a TV.

An charming Mexican restaurant facing the ocean in seal beach.
The takeout line can be long but it’s worth the wait.
We went inside and WOW ! The interior is filled with great murals everywhere. The food choices had a large variety and the prices were very reasonable. Good bar too.
The customer service is fast and helpful. Totally Enjoyed our meals and we will definitely be back with friends and family.
Support this local gem.

Lunch with my momma. We love Seal Beach and she has never been here so it was a no brainer to have her try something new. And….. it is Tuesday so Taco Tuesday it is!!
We sat inside because it was horribly windy today. Plenty of tables available. We glanced at the menu, ordered and started chomping on chips and salsa. We got our food super fast, too, before we filled up on the chips!
Mom had a carne asada burrito and I had 2 shredded beef tacos a la carte. She really enjoyed her burrito. My tacos were excellent.
It’s a cash only restaurant but they have an atm machine inside. You can also order at the window and take your food to the beach, park or home.

Mexican restaurant? The food here is far from authentic Mexican food! I don’t understand how this restaurant has 4.5 stars. The burritos are bland and they serve the guac, pico, and lettuce OUTSIDE of the burrito. Where in the menu does it state this? No where. We ordered a Carne Asada Burrito and the burrito was basically ALL BEANS. Horrible! Also, BEWARE: They charge $2 EXTRA if you ask to have your burrito cut in half. Seriously? It takes a second to cut a burrito in half and you’re charging $2 extra? No way.
On the other hand, the California Burrito DOES NOT come with fries. They straight up just slapped some baked potatoes on it. A burrito with baked potatoes IS NOT a California Burrito. Awful, awful, awful. The only thing I was happy about was the tostadas and their salsa. Other than that, don’t recommend coming here.

This restaurant is above and beyond GREAT. On a scale of 1 to 10, it’s a 12. Give yourself a gift of joy and happiness. Please try it out. You will be glad you did.

We came during the Annual Car Show, so the wait was longer than expected. Our server was friendly and once we were seated our food didn’t take long. Chips and salsa were good. I had the shredded beef taco, the meat itself didn’t have any flavor, it came from the salsa. My husband had ground beef taco and he didn’t like it, he thought the beef had no flavor as well.

I’m honestly very disappointed with El Burrito Jr. I ordered a Super Burrito which by the name, you’d expect to be something filling and satisfying, but instead, it was completely soggy. The tortilla fell apart the moment I picked it up, everything inside just spilled out, and it was such a mess that I couldn’t even make it halfway through before giving up.
What makes the experience even worse is that this place only accepts cash. No credit cards, no Google Pay, no modern payment options at all. It feels extremely inconvenient and outdated to force people to carry cash just to eat here.
And the menu? Not a single picture of the food. For a restaurant, that makes no sense. Customers should at least be able to see what they’re ordering.
Between the soggy burrito, the primitive cash-only policy, and the confusing, pictureless menu, this was an upsetting experience overall. I walked away frustrated and will not be coming back.

Perfect prices and meal quantities. The fajitas were super yummy, and the service was outstanding! Perfect location at Seal Beach as well. We’ll definitely be back!

Had ground beef taco today & it was blah. No taste, just filler in a taco, so its horrible to call it Mexican food. Take it off menu or close.
