The buffet food was good and definitely worth the price you’re paying. The only part I didn’t enjoy as much as the other options was the dessert section. That said, the staff were amazing — friendly and attentive to our needs

Wasn’t too keen on the idea of a buffet dinner, but I’m so glad we did! A fantastic selection of beautiful, fresh food and delicious flavours. There’s something for everyone. Meat eaters, lovers of seafood, vegetarian, even keto. And oh lordy the dessert buffet….be warned…it’s good. Glad we reserved a table because it was a busy night.

We were staying at Devon Hotel and decided to go to their breakfast buffet on our last day. We opted for their cooked options so we can get bacon and eggs. Their croissant and pastries were freshly made and yummy. The scrambled and poached eggs were also perfect. However, my son noticed that there was a fly in one of the bread baskets and no one seems bothered to make sure the food area is clean. I also saw that the grapes are molding but it was still served. Other than that we are happy with the buffet.

Our visit to Marble Buffet was truly enjoyable! The service was attentive, and the breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options to suit all tastes. The cooked breakfast stood out as the best—fresh, flavorful, and prepared to perfection. Highly recommend Marble Buffet for a memorable breakfast experience!

The buffet has a variety of food but the food is ok. I felt like all frozen food, microwaved directly from the supermarket. Was a strange combination, spring rolls, mini mushroom buns, mince and nachos, lot of breads and saladas, lentils curry chicken, curry pork, seafood but scary looking, I tried all that but I only liked the fried pan fish with green sauce that one looks fresh abd tastes good and the roasted veggies…The highlight is one ice cream machine they have on dessert area. The breakfast was a bit of disappointment too, fruit salad looks like from the can, croissants that also looked pre heated from day before, I wouldn’t call it continental, no flavor on the baked beans, boiled egg, mini sausages, all has no taste, or flavor I can’t explain but they looked nice on display…but the worse part was the receptionist from the breakfast, tried charge extra when the breakfast was already prepaid. The receptionist in the dinner was very nice. The opposite from the breakfast girl.

A review I’m actually dreading to write, been coming to marbles since I was a very young child, I’d say 25ish years now, this was my first ever bad experience with the food, firstly no oysters which was quite a shock, the raw fish was bland and watery, no king prawns, the hot meat selection was huge downgrade, usually there’s hot ham lamb chops etc use to be high quality, instead there was almost watery chicken legs with no char, brisket style meat that again was watery like it was herbed and steamed, was extremely fatty with no rendering, I feel like the only dish that was better than usual was the seafood chowder, i must say the service was great as usual, but id bet they have very new or in experienced chefs or something because that was no where near like it usually is, considering how dare it is to eat here it’s just not worth it anymore, such a shame because this was always considered the best place to eat in new plymouth.
Edit. If you read what I wrote I said I have been coming here for over 25 years, honestly I’d say I’ve been here 30+ times on the lower end, so no need for the childish dig. I’ve noticed the dishes have changed over time and it was always a treat, this was my first bad experience ever, I can tell you also that not once have you never had oysters, is that normal? the standard of food has declined full stop, you can’t say that it hasn’t to someone that’s a frequent visitor, again I can’t state it enough, not the service strictly the food, I’m just sharing my experience.
