Wow wow wow this place is so Chinese

Upon walking in the laoban talked to us for like 10 mins about how the pork was specialized from a facility in Maryland to get the same taste as Chinese pork by bloodletting

Anyways the sesame noodles were really great and the meat was good wonderfully flavored

The weird soup with pork balls was great too and kinda tasted like Chinese pork but maybe it was placebo

Bao buns might have been frozen but good

Fish balls we’re meh but maybe it’s just because I don’t like yuwan that much

But most of all the Chinese laoban felt like a very homely grandpa and even gave us boiled water lol

Overall very nice and decently priced very happy

One of my favorite local restaurants to stop by in the central Jersey area. There are a lot of Chinese spots in the area, but this small family run business specializes in the lesser known Fuzhou cuisine, one of the subsets of Fujian cuisine, one of the Eight Great Traditions in Chinese cuisine. This is something that has been lacking in the area for a number of years. A hot bowl of soup plus the peanut butter noodles are a combo that takes me back to growing up going to Flushing in Queens with my parents, and it has made me incredibly happy to have a local spot. It is also super affordable. Please stop in and give it a try!

A7 on menu / Pork meat dumpling & beef tripe are very flavorful. Hot soy milk & fried dough stick combo is good, fresh. Small restaurant, easy parking. Service is slow, even though I was the only customer & just opened, service could be improved.

This is an excellent little spot for authentic Fujian street foods! My partner and I love stopping by whenever we are in the area to grab their soups, noodles, and the delicious fried pork/beef rinds. You also have to try their freshly made soy milks—you can get them warm or cold, and they are so tasty.

The prices here are incredibly reasonable. Unless you’re planning to totally stuff yourself, you’re looking at about $10 per person for a soup and a noodle dish. We’ve tried almost everything on the menu, and we keep coming back for more!

Just a heads-up on parking: it’s totally hit or miss because their lot shares space with an auto repair shop next door. Sometimes the repair cars take up all the room, so you might have to park across the street.

The joint has very limited seating—maybe nine people max? It definitely feels like those quick street food spots back in China where you grab your food, eat fast, and go. If you’re with a party of four or more, don’t expect to sit down easily. The good news is the food comes out extremely fast, often within a couple of minutes of ordering, so you can be in and out in about 15 minutes!

I got the 6 Fuzhou Xiao Long Bao, Peanut Noodles, and a drink. Pretty yummy! If you’re getting multiple items, I’d recommend getting 1 extra large Xiao Long Bao instead of 6, unless you’re super hungry.

Just the right vibe for me when craving for family-style soul dishes. Their foods are authentic, low cost, and fresh. Will definitely come again and try out other featured dishes.

I was looking for a simple Chinese breakfast and Lucky Star more than delivered! Baoze was tasty, had a great bowl of noodles, and ordered some soy milk and Youtiao to go — hope to see this new family owned restaurant become a neighborhood institution!

Came here on New Year’s and the place did not disappoint. The fish ball is freshly made every day – the umami and fresh taste is so hard to find. I bought another pound of the fish balls for to go!
