We came in for brunch this morning (Sunday) after making reservations… We arrived about 30 mins early for our reservation and they sat us immediately. They weren’t very busy when we got there, maybe about 4 tables sat. The menu looked quite nice, plenty of appetizing dishes to try. Service throughout was the issue though. We read reviews prior to coming here about the service being an issue, but we decided to give them a try anyway and we can say, the reviews are legit, they definitely need to work on service here!!! But the food was pretty darn good!
Here are the positives – The food we tasted was pretty darn good! Their biscuit basket was nice, but the apple butter and the herbed butter in it were both amazing! Those biscuits were so darn good we saved one for dessert to enjoy with their apple butter. Their Grand Dad’s Pastrami Sandwich was incredible! The pretzel bun was so soft and flavorful… then mixed with the mustard and their excellent corned beef and those perfectly caramelized onions and cheese – it made one heck of a great sandwich! The chips that came with the sandwich were on the dry/basic side, so they weren’t worth the calories. The cole slaw was just ‘ok’ too. But the sandwich made up for those. Their tomato soup was made very nicely… definitely worth trying!
Overall… there are so many options, so why come back? 2Kyles is right next to this place and they have been consistently very good, as we’ve been there a few times. Sorry, but until they fix their issues with delayed service, the kitchen lacking in food prep (we overheard the chef telling them many times about how to properly prepare dishes), and front of house – I doubt we’ll return.

Bisteo@The Porch!! We absolutely love this place the owner, the staff, the environment. Amazing delicious food options. We have gone here for dinner. We have joined them for a delightful cocktail dinner with local beef and local Gin, vodka, Tequila, bourbon and wine. Shawn the owner is so friendly. The staff from bartender to waitress, waitrers host and kitchen are friendley and make you feel warm and welcomed.

It is a rare moment when dishes and art and food and even the fabric on the furniture are so well done.
My Crispy Chicken on Gouda Pasta was simplistic and yummy — the herbed butter added a visual and tasty touch. My companion’s wedge salad and salmon were a perfect taste and texture contrast with each alternating bite.
And then, the soft and sometimes saturated Caribbeanish and cobalt blues blend across the table and the room to create paintings in themselves – as a pleasing complement to the enjoyment of a quality meal.

The bistro has great food – never had a bad meal here, but the real draw is the cocktails. Hands down the best menu in NOVA – their infusions and syrups they make in house are phenomenal- had their cinnamon whiskey just now and it, like everything else here, was delicious.

My husband and I enjoyed tonight’s New Year’s Eve special menu. We moved to this area a couple of years ago. This was our first visit to this restaurant. First, we thoroughly enjoyed the whiskey cocktails. The Italian Whiskey sour was amazing! The food was delicious and plated beautifully! The shrimp and grits were my favorite. My husband devoured the creme brulee. We have lived and traveled throughout the US and internationally. The food on this special menu was easily a favorite. Some of the wait staff appeared new to the job which resulted in some confusion for other tables. However, the young man (co-owner with his dad) graciously heard the feedback from customers next to us and handled the situation very professionally. We will definitely be back!

Food and service was great. Space is a bit tight, so cozy with table next to ya. It was a cold day, and it could have been warmer inside. There was a cold breeze like an AC was running by the bathrooms. They had an electric stove heater but not sure if any heat was coming out. But again, this place had great food. Call ahead to hold a spot esp in times of not so great weather. Look forward to trying other menu items. Parking was on the street. But they may have a parking lot. Snow in the ground though.

Passing through The Plains, we decided to stop and have a quick bite. Julie was excellent, very attentive, and professional. The owner, Mr. Malone, visited the table for a welcomed chat. Great atmosphere, delicious food. The Crab Dip was excellent, and the Reuben was one of the best we’ve had in a long time. The Surf & Turf Tacos were just okay. The portions are substantial, and the menu was pretty extensive. I will definitely return.

Passing thru on our way to Winchester and found this hidden gem. Loved the old house and outside area. I had the herb crusted chicken with Gouda mac and broccoli. It was prepared perfect and everything tasted fresh and homemade. The broccoli was fresh and crisp. My husband had the smash burger which was huge and he said cooked to perfection. Can’t wait to go back and try some other great entrees.
