they very friendly and prompt of taking your order (walk in to go). But this is the second time in a month that they’ve delayed my order from some reason that makes no sense. maybe the drive-through is better? oh and they included extra coctail sauce this time, which i didn’t order. it was supposed to be tartar sauce. the cocktail sauce consistency is hard and jellied, which i wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy.

Such a nostalgic little place! Takes you back in time with friendly service and great food. Everything was cooked fresh and came out hot. Nice little stop in Beaver!

Don’t ruin your kids’ childhood stopping for fast food at the freeway exit on the way to Saint Geezy & Newport — drive 3 more minutes to Mel’s for a burger & picadillies at this one-of-one Beaver original!!! You can shoot a big buck & play pinball too!

Great option for a local Drive Inn. They even had a Mexican Menu. Video games and unique menu ite.s for a drive inn.

The food is pretty much exactly what you’d expect from a small grill like this. The fries had a nice batter on them that had great flavor and were salted well. The corn dog and grilled cheese were cooked just right.

Very good food and Staff were very polite. They had a lot of interesting and good smoothie options which was pretty cool. For all the Dole whip lovers they have that.
I was coming home from a rode trip and that was a really nice play to stop. Me and my whole family were very hungry from being in the car all day and being able to eat something good was nice.
Had a pretty good experience the only 2 complaints that I have is the seating outside isnt really nice and the wait was a little long but other then that I would recommend this place for sure!

We decided it would be faster to eat here instead of a sit down restaurant. This place is incredibly slow and we would’ve probably have gotten our food just as fast as a sit down place. They forgot our drinks and we had to ask for them a few times. Everything seems to be made fresh so I understand the delay but this was ridiculously long. The food was good. The location was clean. If you’re not in a hurry give it a try.

This is a small shop off the side of the highway right? Not so fast. The food was amazing, shakes, fries, food. All of it. I’d plan around a stop here. The inside is out of the 80s. And the service was great. Polite, fast. Honestly it’s that good.

Really fun little drive in not too far off I-15!
We were looking for a cute local spot to grab a quick bite on our road trip from Denver to Las Vegas while we were passing through Beaver. We also had our dog with so we had to make sure it had an outdoor eating area. Then we came across The Drive Inn (fka Mel’s Drive In) and knew we found our spot.
When you pull up it’s not super obvious where to go if you want the traditional drive-in experience but if you drive around the building you’ll see where to park. Otherwise if you want to eat in or grab it to go, you can park and walk inside.
The menu has a surprisingly big selection despite their small building with really reasonable prices. From burgers to salads to wraps to tots, there’s something for everyone. Even an assortments of desserts including ice cream and Dole Whip for some after dinner fun.
We both grabbed a double cheeseburger meal and it was delish! Exactly the kind of burger you’d want from a drive-in.
If you do make your way inside, there’s a small video game arcade including Walking Dead pinball which was a fun surprise.

We try to hit the local places when we’re on a road trip. I don’t think we’ll hit this one again. Appearance was 4 stars. It’s a great small town burger place. Had the look and feel you’d expect. The staff that we saw were high school kids. Totally expect that at this type of place. They weren’t that friendly or attentive which was a downer. We came in and it took a while for some one to come to the counter. Felt like he’d never taken and order from someone that wasn’t intimately familiar with their menu. While we were eating another family came in and waited for a while at the counter. They actually came over and asked how long it took for our food. Told them it took over 30 minutes for ours. They decided to just leave. Still nobody at the counter when they walked out.So 2 stars for the service. The food was fine, not great. We had a mixture of burgers, chicken sandwiches and chicken fingers. I always expect great food at these places. I figure they’re small and can do a better job on quality. Not so much here It’s what you’d expect from a place that just cooks what they get from their food supplier. 2 stars on that. We did a shake and that was ok, 3 stars on that. So overall, it was fine. Friendlier staff would’ve pushed my review to 3 stars. Next time I think we’ll just hit one of the chain places off the free way. Which makes me sad.
