Pomelo is one of those places I still think about long after I’ve left. It’s a modern, fusion-style Thai restaurant, but the flavors are still very authentic and well balanced.

We ordered a curry, papaya salad, and a seafood soup. The curry was creamy and smooth, with rich coconut flavor but not overly heavy. The papaya salad had the perfect balance of sweet, sour, and spicy — super refreshing and a great starter. The seafood soup was packed with ingredients like mussels and shrimp, and the broth had deep, layered flavor.

The atmosphere feels more like a boutique restaurant than a casual Thai spot — clean, stylish, and comfortable. It’s a great place for dinner with friends or family. Service was good overall, and the food came out at a reasonable pace.

If you enjoy Thai food but want something a little more refined and elevated, this place is definitely worth trying. I still find myself missing this meal.

Came here 2 times during our 5-day trip! We loved everything we ordered, food here is definitely the best of best. Staff is also very friendly. I only wish the restaurant was bigger. Will come again if I come back to NOLA

Thai is my favorite cuisine and this is one of the few Thai restaurants in the Metro area that I’d never experienced. The menu is full of mouthwatering Thai classics but the atmosphere and presentation are a bit more upscale than most of their competitors with slightly higher prices to match but nothing too outrageous.

Small space with limited seating, but they do have outdoor patio which is really cute. They were able to accommodate nine of us for my bday dinner. Food was very flavorful. I loved all the veggies including mustard greens in my curry. It’s BYOB but there is an uncorking fee for wine etc

Pomelo Thai Boutique Restaurant was an absolute 10/10 experience. Everything was amazing from the appetizers all the way to the entrées — and don’t even get me started on the mango cheesecake ‍ .

Our server, Cherry, was the sweetest ever — so helpful, attentive, and genuinely kind. She made us feel welcomed and taken care of from start to finish. I was even checked on by the chef himself, which really says a lot about the level of care and hospitality here. Both the chef and Cherry casually checked in to make sure everything was perfect, and it truly was.

The Curry Puffs were TOP TIER. I had to have that same curry sauce again — you’ll have to ask Cherry about that one because wow. Every bite was packed with flavor.

The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and relaxed, making the entire dining experience even better. From the food to the service to the overall vibe, everything was phenomenal.

I ordered a veggie dish, and it was so salty and under seasoned. I went back and told them, and they said that because I ordered vegetarian then it would be bland. I said that’s not acceptable, they kept asking if I want more sweet. I told them I want spicy and they went back to remake. When I pay$21 plus tax for a mixed vegetable dish, I expect authentic and delicious, not bland and unappealing. NOLA cuisine is not like this, seems like are authentic places are becoming focused on clientele that want bland rice and veggies.

Update: they remade it and it seemed like frozen broccoli and rice. Cold, bland, salty, not spicy. I appreciate them remaking it, but unfortunately it did not make a difference.

One of the most authentic Thai restaurants I’ve ever been to in the US! My partner and I used to live in Thailand and thoroughly enjoyed the food, as well as chatting with the lovely owner. We love coming back here for Khao Soi and a great vegetarian menu(along with literally everything else)!! 10/10 would recommend to anyone.
