We went through the line and they had a lot of options but it looked like one of the mashed potato options seemed old, I didn’t check it and didn’t try it because of that. It gave the impression that it was sitting. Which, made me think the chicken that was next to it may have been dry. (So I didn’t take it.) We sat down and I noticed my daughter had a piece of chicken so I asked her how it was. She said it was “really good”! NOT dry very juicy!
(I would suggest: maybe put a smaller amount to serve of that other dish (when you have a slower foot traffic so it doesn’t appear that items are old/have been sitting)
Note: We were there when it was close to them switching out food or refreshing the buffet. (From a staff comment while she was changing out plates) I will say the staff was on it and refreshed the pizza buffet (I didn’t go back and check the other side dish)
Staff came to the table and checked on us while clearing the used dishes.
We visited at a time where there weren’t many people there or it was in between busy meal times. There weren’t many people 7-10 other people there and more came in while we were dining because it was getting closer to a “normal” dinner/supper time. Myself and my girls were hungry we drove two hours to Appleton to dress shop (which we did).
The salad bar was good and looked fresh… mashed potatoes and chicken were great.. pizza and dessert options.. always good!
Let’s just say we left with full bellies!
My only suggestions would be to make sure to tell guests while paying for their meal that they are able to customize their pizza or ask for a certain kind if you didn’t see one out there. I completely forgot that was an option and something you guys do because it had been awhile since I’ve been to a Pizza Ranch.
One of my daughters is vegetarian so there wasn’t a lot of options she could eat. (Which she is used to but, the fact that she could “make her own” veggie pizza or whatever, would’ve made her feel like she wasn’t “different”. (Mind you, she ate potatoes, salad, cheese pizza, dessert pizza and ice cream and was happy!)
It’s nice you have that as a company because it sets you apart from everyone else. Also, it makes the consumer feel like for the cost of everything nowadays that you are getting something.
As a single mom, the thought when you are paying at the register.. “That was an expensive for pizza!” or “I hope they eat a lot to cover the price.” but, you get something included in that price your own custom order (if you like)… makes it feel extra special and worth the price.. everyone eats, everyone is happy!
-much love-

One CON: The women’s bathroom had a plugged toilet in one stall for sure and one of the bathroom garbage ms was overflowing. I know it wasn’t peak time but it should be checked because when there’s something like that, either busy or not, it makes a clean place feel dirty. It was a slower time period. So just a reminder to check more often
Would go again.
Oh and the brisk tea they got there at the fountain is the best brisk I’ve ever had. ✌️
Wish they would bring back the Soup option as available in Green Bay WI.
The West side Ranch always seems to have pizza, chicken & otjer foods readily available.
Unfortunately I can’t say the same for the East side Appleton WI store.
