We ordered food. The good thing is that it arrived quickly. But it was, ironically, cold. Terribly presented, should be called cold bites, as the size was so small that if wasn’t worth it even with the promo. The slides and the tender folds are not even kids size.

We came for the brisket taco Tuesday and also got the brisket hsp and burrito. The brisket on all was juicy and tender. Everything was amazing. Highly recommend the burrito and taco. The hsp got sickening by the end.

Holy smokes. Al certainly didn’t disappoint.

We went in there with high hopes after salivating over his posts. It’s real folks. The brisket is pure melt in your mouth. The burgers loaded and the fries crispy. Match made in heaven.

The brisket burger was nothing short of a piece of art. It was loaded, juicy, full of smoke flavours and delicious sauces. The brisket literally melted in my mouth. No chewing required.

Best brisket burger to date. And I’ve had heaps. 10/10.

Mi Goreng burger was equally as impressive. Thick, juicy fried chicken topped with delicious noodles and a runny egg. This slapped, hard. 10/10.

Last but not least was the snack pack. Curly fries were nice and crispy, didn’t go soggy despite being covered with brisket and sauces. The melt in your mouth brisket was packed on top. Al didn’t skimp here. 10/10.

This was cheat day of all cheat days. Worth the calories. Simply amazing, couldn’t fault a thing, other than the average seating area and lack of tv, and bathrooms. Who cares. We went for the food which was 10/10.

Thanks Al.

My recent trip back to my old stomping grounds in Rockdale unearthed a true gem: Smokin’ Al BBQ. This wasn’t just a quick takeaway stop; it was an immersive culinary experience from the moment we arrived. The first thing that struck us was the sight of the smoker, and then, the pièce de résistance – the pitmaster carefully extracting a magnificent, deeply burnished beef brisket. It was a visual feast, the rich, smoky hues promising a depth of flavor that immediately set our senses tingling. The aroma that wafted through the air was intoxicating, a symphony of slow-cooked meat that instantly had our mouths watering in anticipation.

This sensory journey continued with each dish. The brisket roll, presented on a pillowy soft milk bun, was a study in contrasts and textures. The bun yielded with the slightest pressure, giving way to the incredibly tender, almost ethereal brisket within. Each bite was an explosion of rich, smoky flavor, so profound and satisfying that it genuinely redefined my perception of beef. The thought of a traditional beef patty burger now seems almost… pedestrian. This is how a burger should be crafted.

The beef brisket tacos were another revelation, a testament to the versatility of perfectly smoked meat. The tortillas, kissed by the flames, possessed a delightful crispness, that satisfying crunch that elevates any taco experience. Nestled within was the same succulent brisket, its tenderness a beautiful counterpoint to the slight resistance of the tortilla. The vibrant salsa added a fresh, zesty note, while the strategically placed jalapenos delivered a welcome burst of heat, creating a harmonious and utterly addictive dish. This wasn’t just a side; it was a potential main event, a dish I could happily devour on a regular basis.

Even the humble curly fries were elevated beyond expectation. Forget those limp, mass-produced versions. These were perfectly golden and audibly crispy on the outside, giving way to a light and fluffy interior. And the crowning glory? Real, discernible pieces of chilli mingled with the cheesy goodness, providing an authentic warmth and depth of flavor that the typical liquid chilli sauce simply can’t replicate. It was exactly how cheesy chilli fries should be – a comforting and satisfying indulgence.

Overall, my experience at Smokin’ Al BBQ was nothing short of exceptional. It’s more than just a takeaway; it’s a destination for anyone who appreciates the art of slow-smoked barbecue. I wholeheartedly recommend it to friends, and with their enticing promise of different portion dishes each month, a regular pilgrimage to Smokin’ Al BBQ in Rockdale is now firmly on the cards. The anticipation of discovering their future culinary creations is already building!

I drove a long way after watching the review on the Spaniard channel, and I’m extremely disappointed with the taste, quality, atmosphere, and service of the food. The place was too small, with only 1 or 2 tables. I couldn’t find a place to sit and eat, so I had to get takeaway.

Despite there being only 2 or 3 orders before ours, we had to wait a long time. I ended up eating in my car, and I was shocked by the portion size and taste of the snack pack. Having tried almost every snack pack in Sydney, I’d say this was the most average. The meat was exceptionally cold, and for a price of $33, I feel like I would’ve been better off giving the money to a junkie for some peace of mind.

This was the most terrible food experience I’ve had in Sydney. I’ll never trust any YouTube channel again. The atmosphere was terrible and dirty. You’re charging five-star hotel prices but delivering one-star food and service. I’ll never go there again.

Ordered their signature beef burger with fries $25
– takeaway & consumed under 10 mins. Taste was good but too soft & didn’t hold structure wise
– burger was too small for the restaurant price tag. Portions could be improved
– fries were good

Honestly our new favourite spot! Everything was so delicious. Something about that Brisket, cheese sauce with the curly fries, I am obsessed. We ordered delivery and everything was still hot. Thank you Smokin Al’s, we will be back for sure.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for some time now and I eat barbecue every chance I get. I ordered the house made smoked sausage at six dollars and the brisket roll at 22 dollars. The sausage was very lean and very peppery which was lovely but unfortunately every single bite I was picking out bits of gristle so gave up halfway through. The brisket role was probably the nicest softest hot dog bun I’ve ever had which was great but unfortunately it was also the smallest I’ve ever seen and only a small scattering of brisket of which about 50% was big lumps of fat so for 22 dollars this is a definite no for me. It’s basically just a small takeaway shop with one decent sized table at the front door but if someone’s there your standing eating so just be aware of that which is fine. All I need to do is tweak some of the small things and this could be good and I know BBQ costs more than most things due to the time involved but $22 for what I got was not good at

I ordered the BBQ plate, mac and cheese and grilled corn, and was extremely disappointed. Meat was flavourless without sauce and however brisket was cooked well. Corn was cold, warm in the middle but was the only item salted or seasoned. Chicken wings were average but strange. Everything was average.
