Parking was difficult during weekend dinner hours. It was also very crowded, so there was a wait! But it was all worth it; the food was very fresh, and the burger was the best I’ve ever had. The nostalgic atmosphere is rare in the Bay Area these days, so a visit to Redwood City is a must.

Great place for families. Food is reasonably priced, and they have a great variety. We googled “good food near me” and found this gem. We were in Redwood City. I had the tri-tip sandwich, it was tender, and the fries are great too. My daughter had the 1/2 rack of ribs that was all gobbled up. My other daughter had a Steak sandwich and she ate majority of it. All my daughters had milkshakes. It would be 5 stars, but the milkshakes were pretty milky than thick. The arcade was a hit with the kids too. We’ll be back.

Price was very fair. And really where else can you get artichokes!!!! Pulled pork was amazing and Philly was excellent. We are from out of the area and it was a great find!!

Great place for a casual meal or a post-workout snack. Reminds me of the older, similar places on the Peninsula like Dutch Goose and The Oasis (RIP). The sliders are quite tasty and the fries are excellent.

FREAKING AMAZING….friend says, “Hey, you need to come with me for a Canyon Burger”….I’m like, “What’s a Canyon Burger?” Huge fan now, love this place….talk about memorabilia and great food. This is one of those classic “mom and pop” “hole in the wall” local hang-out with such an incredible vibe. Had the Canyon Burger (see pic), Best burger I’ve ever had, def coming back. Highly recommend you go check them out.

5/22/23: Good BBQ Sandwich, but friend’s Reuben seemed like store bought meat, and felt quite let down, as most items we’ve had here are equal or better than at other shops. Removing 1 star for the Reuben.

LOVE the history and ambience of this place. Looks like they ADD an additional menu every 10 years, so there are 5 different menu boards on the walls in this establishment. I’ve posted them all so you know what’s current.
I’m a Blue Swiss Burger fan. HINT: Order a side of fries, and start working on them while the burger cools. After 5 minutes or so, the blue and swiss will gel, making the burger much easier to eat. Otherwise, the pair of cheeses cause the top of the bun to slide….until cool. 4.5 stars. Ventilation could be better, but probably the same as it was 50 years ago.

I had the New York steak sandwich with fries and a combination pizza. Pizza was surprisingly very delicious and cheese was stringy, love it like that. The steak was a little tough, but I blame myself, I should have ordered medium instead of medium well. Fries were perfectly nice and crispy. Plan on stopping by again soon.

I recently moved away from Redwood City and Canyon Inn is the local restaurant that I’ll miss the most. Great neighborhood vibes, friendly staff, and reliably delicious and affordable food.
The burgers: Just really good burgers. It’s not on the menu, but you can ask to get peanut butter as a topping. Peanut butter + cheese + bacon = next level
The cheesesteak: Not traditional, but phenomenal, my go-to
The fries and onion rings: crispy and never over done
