Came in for lunch based on the high reviews. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak, half of the steak was in edible as it was grizzle. My partner ordered the chicken barbecue sandwich. The flavor of the chicken was good, but the heavy, doughy bread dominated.
The food was served in polystyrene takeaway containers and accompanied by plastic silverware. Absolutely no reason to be adding to landfills in a dine in restaurant.
Finally, the curtain in the restroom was gross.

I had the breakfast sandwich special. My husband had the Philly cheesesteak. Both were excellent! Support local folks…these guys did a great job, service was quick and friendly and the sandwiches were prepared to order. Will definitely be back!

I ordered the autumn salad and a thai tea and they were both amazing! The salad was missing the brussel sprouts, but it’s a minor error so I don’t really mind. The cost for both were incredibly reasonable for a local restaurant. I would definitely come back here next time I’m in the area 🙂

I guess I was expecting more based on the 4.6 star review it has on Google. This is a place where you carry out or your food is served carry out. The food was good, but not fantastic as other reviews have stated. I am not sure what the review meant when they stated “incredible environment”, but it was kind of dreary inside. I thought I would dine in, but when they brought out the sandwich, it was in a take out box and bagged up, which was really not a problem. This is probably a one and done visit. I am sure they have a clientele base that loves what they have to offer, but it’s not my cup of tea. Check it out before you plug the parking meter.

In the land of meat and potatoes, this place is a gem in the rough. It’s hard finding vegetarian options in Dubuque. Even places claiming to be innovating and exploring new culinary ideas have nothing without flesh in this town. Refresh is a refreshing branch off of the path that Dubuque stays firmly upon. I forgot about this place because I used to work out of town, but I look forward to many lunches from here in the future

We recently ordered from this hidden gem for a work meeting, and the experience exceeded our expectations in every way! From the initial prompt response when placing our order to the final presentation and attention to detail, everything was absolutely amazing.
The food was a true highlight – each dish was delicious and left everyone in the meeting raving about the flavors.
Kudos to the team for their commitment to excellence, and thank you for making our work meeting memorable with your fantastic food and service! We’ll definitely be returning and recommending your catering services to others.

A very casual cafe with a limited menu and four tables, in a restored historic building. We went for the vegan option, a Philly panini with seitan, cheez sauce, and a couple pieces of onion and bell pepper. Not much value for the cost, but hot and filling.

This little mom and pop shop is good to go, especially if you’re looking for some healthy options. So they have this green drink/smoothie, which is really good. Restaurants and bathrooms were clean, too. parking is good, and just a well ran establishment with friendly people that work there. If you are looking for something in the city that’s different and not too pricey, this is a good choice.
