My first time there and this was a very pleasant surprise. Everything was first class from the service to the food to the great atmosphere. We shared a meal and had plenty even with the small share charge. I really liked their attention to detail from the servers and they were always there with multiple people taking care of you. Doesn’t look like much from the outside but this is a top flight place to go to eat. Do it!

We came on a recommendation from a friend and she really was not mistaken, since we arrived the attention of our waitress Carly was always impeccable with a good recommendation and knowledge of the menu, the food was spectacular, my daughter ate some gnocchi and they were so good that she ate up to the “Literal” dish they are served in a bowl made of bread that was very good idea from the Chef, my wife ate a French Chicken with potatoes and spinach that I can’t explain how tasty it was, I ordered a lasagna that was for The dish that we came recommended, personally is one of the best I have tried in my life, everything was at its point cooked to perfection, the flavors impressive, my brother-in-law ordered the pasta sea food He felt that the seafood was fresh and the pasta at its correct point of cooking “Al Dente” I really congratulate the Chef because everything was Awesome . I recommend it 100%

What a great find. We wanted to have a quick bite to eat before the movies and found this very quaint but elegant place. Everyone was so nice, including the customers. Perhaps it was all the great wine being poured. we had the Salmon Special, Lasagna and Chicken Parmigiano. Everyone said it was the best they have ever had. We will definitely be back!

Haven’t been here since the remodel but WOW! Looks GREAT!! The owners have done great things to the place! Had an awesome meal, great service by Josh and I forgot they have one of the best pizza/calzone makers ever! I can’t remember his name but he’s been there forever and does a really great job! My daughter had her very first Calzone and LOVED it! We will be back soon! Thanks Rob & crew!

After reading the reviews, we decided to check it out for ourselves. The bad reviews were so minimal that I thought, “they have to be good”.

We walked in and immediately seated at whichever table we wanted. BTW this was today, Sunday, 7/9. When we were seated, our waiter came over, Wes, and immediately asked if we wanted a drink. I ordered a smoked old fashion. We ordered a bottle of red wine for dinner and had bottled water. Wes came within minutes with my drink and wine for the table.

Soon the appetizer of buarrata cheese salad came and it was delish! In the meantime, a basket of homemade focaccia bread was presented along with a small carafe of seasoned oil to dip in.

Our entrees were served, I had Veal Picotta and my husband had the special, spaghetti bolognese with sausage.

I noticed the pizza oven and mentioned to my husband he needed to go see. He did and then the owner came over and struck up a conversation with my husband. They talked about pizzas and having a home oven. We were eating our dinner when all of a sudden a cheese pizza shows up courtesy of Rob, the owner. We let it cool down, still hot from the fire roasted oven. So at that time we decided to save half of our dinner so we made room for the pizza. Glad we did, that was incredible.

Dinner was done and dessert time. Apparently they offer a complementary zepolies for dessert. We got that and I got an espresso.

All I can say is that from the beginning of walking into the restaurant, we had nothing but a great experience. Rob was very cordial and interested in our input.

Great time and food. We will definitely go back whenever we are in town. This is definitely THE ITALIAN RESTAURANT OF SARASOTA.

Amazing food. We stopped in after being stuck on 75. 3 hours of crawling and stopping . Every street was bumper to number and it’s still not any better, looking out the window. I am so happy we stopped in. The food is amazing, great music and wonderful service.

We went for lunch and received a prompt and friendly greeting. Based on the server’s recommendation, we tried the meatball appetizer, served with sauce and fresh ricotta. Excellent. We split a spinach calzone. Very good.but the crust was a bit light for us. However, we failed to ask for well done. Pleasant and attractive decor. Good Italian music. Very attentive and friendly server. We had plenty of food splitting the meatball appetizer and one calzone. We will be back to try the entrees. Recommend!

Delightful place for a nice meal, service was good, portions are more than enough. Every table that order seemed to get something different. I look forward to more meals.

I didn’t want to come here as my last review was negative but you know, family. It’s pretty hard to screw up Italian food but: the gnocchi we requested dairy free was made TWICE with cheese. The mussels with pasta was super watery. I didn’t get my salad prior to the meal. The focaccia bread was burnt. My sister in law that ordered the gnocchi, ate all my potatoes as she was hungry. The place did bring me more potatoes but it was super undercooked. The asparagus came with six pieces (see photo). I just found out the pasta in the mussels cost 10.95 and there was no marinara. Next time listen to me, my dear family. This place sucks and has always sucks.
Update – the manager came by to discuss and I advised I usually don’t write negative reviews on local, non chain places.. however, the manager said he doesn’t care about negative reviews. Really. Hope you close down soon.
Yet another update – I was not the one who took the leftovers so don’t even think about putting this in your response.

There are quite a few Italian restaurants in Sarasota and Venice, but this one has atmosphere, killer red sauce, and a NY delight… Zeppoli. First time there and we really liked the food and service. We will go back!
