We had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at this family run restaurant in the heart of Werribee. We visited as a group of seven, and from the moment we walked in, we were immediately greeted with genuine warmth, smiles, and kindness, creating a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere that made us feel right at home.
We started with papadams served with a lovely mint chutney and mango chutney, both of which were fresh, vibrant, and absolutely delicious. For our starter, we shared the tandoori mixed platter, which was exceptional. It included seekh kebab, chicken tikka, drumsticks, lamb cutlets, pudina chicken, tandoori chicken breast, and drumsticks. Every item was beautifully cooked, full of flavour, and clearly prepared with care and pride.
The mains were just as impressive. We enjoyed garlic naan, cheese paratha, beef saag, tandoori chicken, chicken korma, butter chicken, chicken tikka, chicken vindaloo, korma, and mango chicken, all accompanied by fragrant biryani rice. Each dish was rich, comforting, and perfectly balanced. You could truly taste the love that goes into these freshly cooked meals.
The restaurant itself is very clean, with bathroom amenities that were spotless and easily accessible. The service throughout the night was outstanding, friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring, especially impressive given the size of our group.
This is a fantastic spot for groups, families, and couples alike. It’s very child friendly, has a lovely atmosphere, and is extremely well priced for the quality and quantity of food you receive.
Highly recommended and an absolute must visit if you’re in Werribee. We will definitely be back!
The service was great. The staff were polite, attentive and down for a chat when they had time.
The restaurant is spacious; it has nice decor and I would say is a pleasant atmosphere.
My recommendations would be the lamb cutlets, sheekh kebab and tandoori chicken in the entres. In the mains we got lamb bhuna, chilli chicken and butter chicken. Everything was made to perfection. I am deffs coming back!
The team’s hospitality stands out—they’re always friendly, attentive, and keen to offer suggestions or accommodate special dietary needs. I especially appreciate how they check spice levels and personalize dishes to suit your preferences. The dining area is neat with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere—just right for groups, family meals, or casual takeout nights. Pricing is fair for the quality and quantity.
Curry Guru stands the test of time for consistent taste, service, and value. Desserts shouldn’t be missed—gulab jamun and other sweets are a great finish. This is my go-to spot for Indian food in Werribee and definitely one to recommend to anyone!
Had ordered Aloo Gobhi, but I received Oil-Gobhi. The veggies were quite literally floating in oil, the curry felt stale and tasteless – quite bland, despite requesting for it to be medium-hot spicy. I had ordered Gulab Jamun as dessert, but it was broken and soggy in the sugar syrup when I opened the container (also tasted bad).
I’m aware that restaurant food is usually oily, especially Indian cuisine. However, it’s disappointing to see such blatant disregard towards the quality of food that you are serving people to consume. A very unsatisfactory experience, especially when you have been starving!
Give it a go!
Butter chicken is the best we have had and we always come back for it!
Customer service is also great.
