Had breakfast here for a few times. Food was fine, but they often forgot (twice!) to bring an item of my order, like fruits. Their attitude sometimes was distant. When I asked for a box and thanked the staff, he looked at me indifferently, without saying a word. Anyways, I probably will go more frequntly to McDonald’s for breakfast, althouth its options are limited.

Diner type restaurant attached to a grocery store. You order at a counter and seat yourself in the dining area. At least for breakfast, it’s a very good value. The whole meal pictured (both plates) was only $10 — definitely very filling. My main gripe is that the “fresh fruit” is like 80% melon and doesn’t taste all that fresh. Still a good establishment, probably the closest thing to IHOP / Waffle House in the Ames area.

I regret eating here every time I do. Tried Market Grille a handful of times and I wont be going back. My orders are consistently made incorrectly, the food quality is mediocre at best. This place is presented like a restaurant but you would be pressed to find a better experience here, than you would expect at a hospital cafeteria. I was even served moldy fruit, and found more than one hair in my food. Talk about a plethora of health code violations right in the grocery store.

The food tastes good, but the service leaves much to be desired. Also, the sushi rolls they serve are so big, you can’t eat one in one bite, which ruins the experience.

Unless Devin is the cook or you like raw potatoes, DON’T get breakfast here. The other guy routinely uncooks his dishes and thinks pepper will make up for it. They’re too expensive to not know how to cook hash browns.

My family and I purchased a take out meal of a bacon cheese burger and Ruben sandwich for lunch yesterday, I’d have to say it was arguably the best takeout I’ve had since I moved here. If you haven’t been here, be sure to stop by and try either one, definitely a taste bud’s pleaser…..

Service and quality of food has gone down over past 6 months. There is minimal waitress service and you place order near entrance, pick up your own drinks and then hope your food arrives hot and in less than 15 min.
If you want a beer or wine or mixed drink, you can order at bar and take to your table. There is a very good Happy
Hour from 4 – 6 pm with $2 draft beer and half price apps. There is a nice salad bar for $5 after 5 pm and Chinese
food and pizza are available.
HyVee will give you a lot of food but the quality and dinner choices and service are lacking in Ames.

Something is nearly always forgotten. Sunday brunch is a big disappointment. Go to the one in Ankeny. It’s fantastic. After several months, we decided to give the Ames location another chance. Big mistake. Several dirty dishes (most of the dishes we picked up had hard, crusted on food), hard French toast, soggy waffles, and various hard, dried out foods in the warmers. We can’t understand how this location is so incredibly different from the Ankeny one.
