I usually go to this location at least once or twice a week because I’m a nursing student at WSU. But yesterday will be my last time. At around 8:00 AM I ordered a medium caramel Blondie under the student discount. I got to my first class of the day and started drinking my coffee and immediately got sick.

Throughout my first two hour class, I vomited multiple times and had unpleasantries out the other end as well. I really couldn’t figure out what was wrong and just decided to toss my coffee. As I went to take the lid off and pour my drink in the bathroom sink, I came across a piece of plastic with black residue hanging from the bottom.

I showed my fellow classmates and we were all disgusted. I took my coffee back to Black Rock and showed the shift lead and although she was somewhat apologetic there wasn’t anything that was really done. She promised me the store manager Evan would be calling me within a couple of hours yet it’s the next day and nothing.

I spent hours at Kaiser urgent care yesterday and last night vomiting with liquid stool and pumped with medicine just to keep me hydrated. I’ve had a fever for hours and now have a lovely medical bill I did not plan on having. I’m now sick in bed with finals week in school coming up and I’m exhausted and upset. Yet Evan and this is establishment don’t care about the health and well-being of their customers.

I’m extremely disappointed in this place it’s hit or miss depending on who makes it. I ordered a blended Matcha and it literally looks like just milk and actually it does taste creamy not like Matcha at all and you can tell because it’s barely green. It’s frustrating. Why cant anyone just get matcha right there? And the breakfast burritos edges were as hard as a rock I couldn’t bit into it.. sadly I will not be going back to this location I have given them the benefit of the doubt one to many times. The mentality shouldn’t be “well I guess it depends who makes it”

I went to this location as I am a door dasher to pick up an order. Went to counter to let the employees know that I was there to pick up an order and gave them the name of the customer I was told they would have it out as soon as they can. In the meantime time of me waiting there was about 4-5 people that ordered after me and guess what they all got their orders before me still waiting for my order I finally went to the counter and asked how much longer for the order I was told a few more mins as about 3-4 cars passed in drive thru. Then someone handed me part of the order and I told her that there was a total of 3 items she looked at the computer and said o . I went back to the store to let them know that I had gotten a violation due to them being late for pick up, which made my order late for delivery. I was told by whoever it was in charge that sorry there was nothing they could do I told them that there was something that they can do. They can call DoorDash and let them know that because they were busy and because of the way the business was run. That they were late getting the order out that way, I was not penalized for this, but obviously none of them care about the customers and I’m sure the management doesn’t either cause they won’t do nothing about it I guess I just get the violation and have to suck it up because of their mistake
So my question is, how is it fair to one person waiting for their order but the people that order after them get their order before them

The cashier with long blonde hair was so friendly & courteous. She helped me make a decision on my drink & pastry since it was my first time visiting.

Only complaint was that I didn’t enjoy my drink – I believe it was called a caramel white mocha latte. Buy my boyfriends caramel blended beverage was delish.

Only did drive through. Half sweet was so insanely sweet still. This is closer to like a Dutch Bros than proper coffee. Coffee was fairly mediocre and priced very high.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. Not super easy to get in and out of, but it’s great having one in our neighborhood. Had the Chai Tea Chiller, should have added another shot for more flavor .

I love the employees at this location. 4/26/22 update, they’ve had a lot of staff changes and surprisingly they consistently have great staff. That’s hard to do in today’s service climate.

I used to go to Black Rock on a regular basis. Winter of 2024 I went to Alaska to work for a couple of months came home to find Black Rock had removed my 13 free drink points this is a fair amount of points. It was a fight that took about 6 weeks however I did get them replaced. Winter of 2025 I went back to Alaska for work. When I came home I found that my 10 free drinks worth of points had again been removed. However this time nobody seems to want to do anything about it. I wonder if they understand that even 10 free drinks worth of points is somewhere between $600 and $900 spent at their location. For this reason I will no longer be using Black Rock. Therefore I give it one star or I would not have been able to leave a review if I could I would have left a review of zero at this point. I know I have no other coffee vendors that treat their customers in this manner.

I highly recommend! Not only do they make the best flavored energy drink I’ve had, their service is always impeccable! 9 times out of 10 my drink is already ready when I order ahead, and if it’s not they acknowledge me and have it out in less than 3 minutes. So friendly! Great experience overall!
