Reviews
The food was excellent. I started with the Mekong soup, which came in a very generous portion. It was packed with white fish and a variety of fresh ingredients, with just the right level of spiciness, perfect for anyone who enjoys a little kick. For the main, I had the fried rice with chicken and grilled pineapple, and it was amazing. The rice arrived piping hot, perfectly cooked. The combination of chicken, sweet pineapple, and spices was a beautiful, well-balanced blend of flavors.
My only concern was the smell. When you leave the restaurant, the scent of fried food stays on your clothes, which suggests the ventilation system could be improved.
I recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy authentic and delicious Asian cuisine in Montreal.
Every time we visit we are left satisfied and well fed. The food is always amazing! Definitely should try their wings, satay, beef brochette, mango salad, fish & short ribs!
They also have the drinks on point!!
Hit them up & tell em’
Jay sent ya!!
Also please consider turning the heating “on”. Resto was really cold and my partner had to keep her jacket on the whole time. We were in the center of a mostly empty restaurant, not even near a window or door, yet it was very cold.
The only negative is the beef. This ingredient itself was not good in any dish that has beef when I had my meal. Not sure if it is a one time situation. It was chewy and dry, although flavorful.
Been there a couple of times and it is good every time. Very consistent.
The meals are delicious and the quantities are very generous. Definitely recommend this place!
Tip: We ordered with chili spiciness level. Which was enough for me, but for my friend no. So we ordered a side chili for him. Otherwise you may end up with too much spiciness.
Le Mékong is a really pretty restaurant the decor is modern, the atmosphere is great, and it’s a nice spot for a night out. The service wasn’t bad either. A little slow at times, but nothing crazy.
That said, the food was a letdown. We tried 6 dishes, and 3 of them were either way too salty or way too sweet. It felt like they were trying too hard with the flavors, but the balance just wasn’t there. The biggest shock was the price one fish dish was $60, which didn’t feel worth it at all for what we got.
Overall, it’s a cute place to hang out, but the food and prices didn’t match the experience. I might give it another shot in the future, but I wouldn’t go back expecting anything amazing.
