Went there to celebrate birthday night. The place is very modern, upscale and stylish, they have reservation system and very punctual in honoring the slot we picked. The ambience is very warm and nice with soft glow lighting, perfect for date nights. Their sushi menu is amazing with some unique options that included black rice such as dragon rolls. We ordered domo spicy sushi which comes with shrimp tempura, crab and some tuna. Chicken gyoza was such a warm hug and very flavourful. We also got the general tso’s chicken paired with house fried rice which was good too. For cocktails we did the lychee rose and whiskey.

Let me start off that our waitress Izzy was exceptional! Nice spot for a date night. Just tried TEN Sushi + Cocktails in River Oaks and wow… this spot is

The vibe was on point — chic décor, cherry-blossom walls, and throwback 90s–2000s R&B playing all night. Perfect date-night energy.

The sushi portions were BIG and super fresh. Highly recommend:
Forbidden Roll
Black & Yellow Roll
Yuzu salmon & yellowtail sashimi

The cocktails were just as impressive — Japanese-inspired with flavors like lychee, yuzu, and spicy citrus. The Lychee Martini and Japanese Old Fashioned was my favorite.

If you’re looking for a new sushi + cocktail spot with great music, great food, and a cool atmosphere, TEN is definitely worth checking out.

If I could give TEN Sushi TEN STARS, I would! My sister reserved a table for me for my birthday and we were blessed to have the manager, Juan, wait on us for our visit. Not only was he a complete and total gentleman, he answered all my moms questions (she’s not a big sushi person lol) and made accommodations for my very picky kiddo and not just that, we had the AMAZING chef Andy whip up some of the most beautiful, fresh, and tasty sushi pieces I’ve ever had. The mule I got was DELICIOUS and the “Forbidden” sushi that Juan suggested from the menu was literally chefs kiss. Even the wait staff clearing plates (Danny) were kind and got plates off our table in a timely manner. All in all, TEN Sushi has a customer for life! And I can’t wait to return some day soon! Thank you Juan and Chef Andy for a beautiful birthday dinner

One hidden gem
Prepare to be experience one of the best sushi in Houston.
Firm the beautiful entrance, Japanese decor, outstanding service and truly delicious food.
The service was perfect, they can guide you and help you get the best of their menu.
Staff and knowledgeable and very attentive.
The cocktail list is good with an option for everyone and I love that they can accommodate your preferences.
The vibe is chic and elegant.
I think it’s perfect for a great date or a girls night out.
We got their chicken gyozas by far the best gyozas in town.
For rolls: Forbidden and BG, my favorite was Forbidden with black rice.
I highly recommend to make a reservation on the app, google or calling.
Enjoy!

My wife and I recently visited TEN Sushi for the first time and were pleasantly surprised. The space feels like a stylish, intimate, and relaxed place.

We arrived about six minutes before our reservation and were warmly greeted by the staff, which immediately set a great tone for the evening. One thing we really appreciated was the size of the restaurant—it’s not massive or overly loud, making it easy to enjoy conversation without competing with noise.

We ordered a variety of sushi rolls, and every one was excellent. Fresh, well-balanced, and clearly made with care.

Overall, it was a fantastic first experience, and we’re already planning a return visit with another couple to try more of the cocktails and some sashimi. Definitely a spot worth revisiting.

Absolutely love this place! The sushi is always fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is inviting and perfect for a relaxed night out or a casual dinner.

But what really makes the experience even better is Juan!
hands down the best bartender! His cocktails are amazing, and he always greets you with a smile and great conversation. You can tell he genuinely cares about the guests and takes pride in what he does.

Highly recommend sitting at the bar if he’s working, you won’t be disappointed!

Vibey and trendy sushi with other popular Asian fusion. Great for a date night, girls night out or a mixed crowd.

The decor is bold, striking and fun from the cherry blossom trees behind the bar to the abstract mural on the ceiling. It can be a cool backdrop or a topic of conversation.

The service generally was decent. The bartender was more engaging and friendly even when we were at our table. He brought our drinks and continued conversation.

The food is decent, but somewhat all over the place. This is a good place for the uninitiated as there are a variety of options for those that “don’t like/eat sushi”. There are more known Americanized Asian fusion options like Kung Pao Shrimp and Shaken Beef. The food took a while coming out so it was a slower paced meal. The rolls were decent sized.

The stand out was the melting chocolate cake. Moist cake with decadent chocolate inside and poured on top. It’s paired with a large scoop of ice cream and fresh fruits. It’s large enough to share.

Parking was not intuitive. There were spots in the back of the building that are probably free. Some of us parked across the street, but that’s probably not the designated parking either.
