The food was delicious!! Being a native Texan, I love some good BBQ and this was definitely good BBQ! We had the turkey, lean brisket, burnt ends and ribs and it was all delicious! The sides were also very good; I really enjoyed the coleslaw, it’s a little sweet, which I like, but the fried okra was my favorite! I was excited to have a taste of home!! We ordered the dinner for 8, with 7 of us eating, and took quite a bit home. The bread was also really good. We will definitely be back! The customer service was great; very friendly!

Food was great, service was fast and super friendly. Others mentioned tables that had you “far” from the person in front of you…I can’t ♀️ It’s called family style folks…they have wider tables for the multiple trays in between you for sharing and what not compared to the standard tables. Anywho, nice to have a mom and pop BBQ spot in Meridian. Also, don’t leave without having the banana bread pudding. SO good!

The food was absolutely delicious. We both had the 1/2 pound brisket. We had the choice of lean, juicy or dry. I had the juicy and it was perfect. The sides cost extra and the overall price of the lunch was a little high ($48), beef prices are crazy these days; but it was worth it. I also noticed that my butt was frozen from sitting on the metal chairs but at least the food was warm!

The brisket had a nice bark, choice of lean, fattier or mix. The flavor was stupendous with a smokey flavor that enhanced the meat without overwhelming your palate. The smoked jalapeño and cheddar sausage was a great balance of cheese (not too much) and spicy smokiness. I also had the smoked sauerkraut. I am biased about sauerkraut because I love it. This had an excellent flavor with a little crispness. It complemented the meat and sauce well. The fried okra was crispy and well seasoned. Their service was great; thorough with making sure they got your order correct and checking on you while enjoying their great food.

Some of the best BBQ you will find anywhere! You want some good hardy southern BBQ this is the place for you. I’ve been all over the nation and I would come back to Meridian Idaho just to have some more of this place. House sausage is to die for. The brisket is moist and melts in your mouth. The ribs are phenomenal. Make sure to try all the sauces are they are just as good as the food. Make sure to grab some of the banana pudding on your way out you won’t regret it. Staff is friendly and good conversation all around. Thanks for the amazing lunch/dinner/lunch!!

Went to Smokin Iron bbq for the first time in.
Since it was our first visit and the prices were high, we were recommended the $62 family meal that supposedly feeds four people. It included 2 proteins, 2 sides, bread, pickles, and BBQ sauce.
We originally chose brisket and pork butt, but they were out, so we were given baby back ribs instead. Somehow, our total still came out to $92, which makes zero sense. The math just isn’t mathing.
As for the food:
The bread wasn’t toasted or warmed.
The pickles were extremely sour.
The ribs were overly burnt and had an almost fishy taste.
The brisket was greasy, burnt, dry, and lacked flavor, you had to drown it in BBQ sauce.
The only positive was their house-made BBQ sauce, which was actually good.
Overall, for the price, this was really disappointing. You’re honestly better off spending your money at Texas Roadhouse, where at least you get your money’s worth.

Our son wanted to try a new BBQ joint for his birthday. So we tried this place and we are so glad we did. The staff was absolutely AMAZING! We loved all the food and the fun stories from the owner. Thank you all for making our son’s birthday special.

As a family of five with three kids, space matters, and the large tables here were such a win. It feels like most restaurants never have enough room for families, but that was absolutely not the case here.
My husband and I are Texas born, so we love good BBQ and anything that reminds us of our southern roots, and this place delivered. The atmosphere is full of sweet southern hospitality and genuine kindness, which made us feel right at home.
It’s a fantastic BBQ spot right here in Idaho, and we’ll definitely be back. The banana pudding is made with love, you can taste it. Our two youngest devoured their turkey and mac & cheese plates, and the Frito chili was a classic and absolutely delicious.

This is my family’s favorite BBQ spot in the Boise area! Everyone here is friendly. We always get the J.R.’s plate with ribs, brisket, and sausage + 2 sides; it’s more than enough food to share between 2 adults and 1 kid. I love their fried okra!
