When I found out there were new owners at The Maples, I had to make a reservation and see if anything changed because, this was the best place outside of going to Pittsburgh for a great steak and I’m happy to say this steak was the same as before, which is EXCELLENT!!!
The Appetizers were on point…
The bread was hot and fresh out of the oven…
The steaks come out sizzling on a hotplate with drawn butter and are a Chateaubriand cut… Absolutely amazing…
The new owner Nicole treated us as family and we couldn’t have asked for a better meal and dining experience…

Amazing filets, with all of the right add ons. Mushrooms, onions, lump crab.
Definitely one amazing steak house, almost in the midwest supper club vibe. Very traditional and very simple.
Crab cakes and fish also were to our groups delight.
I forgot about the sizzle factor and the added onions.
Amazing still.

Small salad, 3 shrimp on a saucer with the plastic lid from a take out container to hold the cocktail sauce in the center. Filet mignon was good but not great. Not the place for a over $200.00 Valentines dinner for two. This place is really outdated and run down walls cracked and stained with leaking water and covered up with dollar store shelf liner…if the owners aren’t concerned about what is visible to the public I wonder about the condition of the areas that aren’t seen.

Don’t let the location or the looks fool you. If you want a simply excellent dinner with quietly attentive and friendly service, ignore the plain exterior and the dated interior and treat yourself to a superior meal. A hidden gem and a real treat!

The steaks were absolutely phenomenal as were the crab stuffed mushrooms. However, the side salad and side dish choice of baked potato which comes with a 1/2 cup of sour cream on top or veggies (which were clearly frozen bag reheated) were very underwhelming for the cost per plate. I would have even been willing to pay a few dollars more per plate to get a fresher seasonal vegetable option.
The staff were were very friendly and responsive, and it was very easy to call and make a reservation.
The atmosphere was very unique, but the place could use some fresh carpeting that isn’t faded or stained.

Maples is a gem. The owners are the kindest and warmest people who truly make you feel welcomed. The menu options are limited, which is a positive, as the focus is on quality. The meat is prepared with attention, and has a flavor superior to ANY of the corporate chains in the city (Morton’s, Ruth’s, Eddie V’s, etc.).
I cannot give this place any complaints as my meal was truly fantastic and far exceeded my expectations. On second thought, my only complaint is that I didn’t find this place sooner!

My boyfriend took me here. Great steak and crab stuffed mushrooms! Also, if you get mushrooms with your steak they are whole medium sized portobellos which I don’t know how they cook them but they’ll melt in your mouth. Friendly and prompt service. Would highly recommend 🙂

Best steaks ever! Only place our kids don’t hesitate to say yes to. Richard and Mary Jane make the visit so special, we are treated like family and on a first name base. Erin is our favorite waitress, she knows what we want without us asking.

Call ahead to make sure that they are open. I drove out for a mouth watering steak on a recent Thursday evening but the place looked deserted. I hope that everything is okay.
Edit; The Maples Google My Business Page stated that they were open on Thursdays but reading the website later and it listed hours only for Friday and Saturday. I really want to come back and try this place. It sounds great.
