Ordering was efficient at the counter. We both ordered malts and 1/4 original burgers with cheese. I got bacon but not her, and she got mayo while I stuck with mustard. Fries to split.
.
The malts came out first, brought to the table. They were perfection. Prominent malt flavor and creamy ice cream (not sure it is ice cream or some other product). What a start!
.
The burgers and fries came next, and we loved them. The salad was on the bottom, comprised of iceberg lettuce, tomato slabs, and onions. Cheese was on top, and mine was capped by very thin bacon slices. The patty was solid, the whole thing was juicy. My only real note is that the bacon tended to come out rather than being cut when bit; some combination of thinness, toughness, and size at play here.
.
The fries were crinkle cut and amazing. So crunchy on the outside and pillowy soft on the inside. If the malt wasn’t so darn good, these might have stolen the show.
.
Overall, 10/10. If they were 25 miles closer, we’d be regulars.
.
One thing to note for my burger-loving motorcyclist fam: the side parking lot is concrete with ample space. There is lots of seating. This could be a very nice place to spend your mid-ride money. 😀
Edit: they recently started serving breakfast and coffee and it’s been a hit and so convenient. Delicious menu items for breakfast and coffee/espresso from freshly ground beans. Who needs McDonalds when you can have the quality of fresh ingredients here for a better price? It’s a winner!
This place is an Alvin Treasure. Right off 6.
Throwback style restaurant.
You have to get a burger and a shake.
Food was hot and made to order.
Tables all clean and sanitized as soon as a customer left.
Dont throw away your basket!
Food:
All three of us got a double cheeseburger combo. Have to say, the burger itself was great. Not greasy, plenty tender, good flavor, and fresh. The fries were nothing to write home about though, seemingly unsalted and plain – that’s the only spot that loses a star for me.
Can’t have a malt myself, but the family told me their chocolate malts were good.
Service:
About what you’d expect from a whole in the wall type place I’d say. Gent who took our order was nice enough & brought us our food. No complaints there.
Atmosphere:
Definitely not someplace I’m coming for a scenic view while dining, but hey, when the food is good, what’s it matter. Not much to write about here. Place was clean, but older.
Overall:
I definitely plan to come back to try some of the other menu options. Happy to have found this place.
Expect about $13+ for a combo meal. Relatively fair pricing in my opinion.
