good ice cream, but the kid who served us could have been more friendly. they were also out of a few products.

A nice selection of ice cream but I found it to be on the expensive side. I was treating one of my grandsons to an ice cream after his Saturday football game. Next time I’ll stop by a store and by a quart and cones to take home for all the grandchildren to enjoy together.

I wasn’t happy.
Because of the portion size of a single or a double. My wife asked for her ice cream to be put into a cup. They never asked me if I wanted it in a cup and put it in a cup anyway. The cost of the ice cream was ridiculous.
Almost $15. Very disappointing for being a local business.

Pretty good ice cream shop. You can choose to sit on the patio or inside the store. They keep the store clean, and the ice cream is good.

We’ve come twice now hoping it would get better since it is a convenient location. Really slow and inefficient service. We get and support young workers, but they are clearly too new and inexperienced to be solo as they were quickly overhwelmed and unable to keep up leading to poor and sloppy service and frustrated employees. First time, we waited as several orders were filled after ours was placed and eventually were served. Second time, the cones were tiny quick scoops, no ice cream actually in the cones, and they were falling apart. The two girls working were obviously struggling and needed some managerial oversight as well as lessons in food safety.

I really really want to love cowlicks. There is a lot to like about this place. The soft serve is amazing and they have good brands of ice cream (Mooville and Hudsonville are great brands). The downsides are that there is usually just one person working taking orders and making ice cream. During rush times expect a long wait. This wasn’t a one time thing it’s regular. The second issue is the inconsistency which is probably a training issue. Sometimes pup cups are $1. Sometimes it’s a small soft serve which is $4. Sometimes milk shakes are all milk. Sometimes all ice cream. There are clearly training and cross-training issues and a lack of standards. There also seems to be a bit of turnover, which makes those problems worse. If you have the time to wait it’s not a bad choice, but there are many better options a very short drive away.

Jason, the owner was there and WHAT a Fantastic Person He is! We bought these Coulatte steaks that he suggested when we asked what for Memorial day grilling. We wrapped them each with bacon and they were awesome!!! All their meats are incredible and YOU SHOULD TRY TOO! Their Ice Cream selection has us always coming back to try more!!! Thank-you Jason and Staff— it’s So Nice you care! xoxox- Bonnie & Tom

Best place to get ice cream in Rockford. Best mint chip I’ve had! They also know how to make a soft serve with toppings. Not only will they blend them in but they add extra on top.
Don’t worry if you see a line as they get through it very quickly.

Right down the road from our house so we have made many visits over there between the previous ice cream shop to the current one, Cowlickers. When we are able to actually get ice cream the service has been great and product delicious. The thing is, you don’t know when they will actually be there, from shutting the door at random times in the day (has happened 3 times to me), to the hours of operations changing on a whim and being 2023, they fail to update their online operating hours when the decide to adjust them (easier than commenting on customer’s reviews), leaving anyone who may have driving further than the 1-2 miles I had to drive very much out of luck. It has left my wife and I very much disenchanted with the new owners here.
