Reliable. Dependable. As unpretentious as you will ever find. A Mexican American restaurant in a former Hardee’s building run by a man who moved from Mexico, cooked in local restaurant, stared this place and continues to do virtually all the cooking.
The food is good, some bordering on great (Mexican rice, Huevos rancheros, pastor tacos). Serving sizes are very generous. Prices are quite reasonable. Service is always excellent.

Much love for El Popo. The food is always delicious, staff is always epic. If you are in the Wautoma and looking for something to eat I highly suggest El Popo, they have a very wide and diverse menu. Also while you are there slip in to the grocery store and stock up on your Jarritos.

Nice place to stop in and have breakfast. Prices are very reasonable. Staff is nice, they give you a lot of food. The food it’s self is what you would expect for the price and the amount you get. I would recommend this place and I will be returning. It’s a nice place to stop and have breakfast.

This was a good find. They have a large menu with many options. They even have Friday fish fry specials. I wanted a mexican dish, and I was not disappointed. I got the mixed fajitas. My buddy got the tostadas. He got free chips and salsa with his tortas. The salsa was homemade and had a good kick to it. Overall, it was a good experience. The food and service was good. They have a Mexican grocery store inside here, too! I’ll definitely come back to try other dishes, too!

Food nearly an hour late, one person said it was sitting there for 45 min next person said oh they didnt make it yet. Either way i ordered my food at a certain time to get it at a certain time. First experience here and it will be the last.

Love the wonderful waitress most mornings! Fast friendly service. Most of the food is so very delicious. Prices have gone up but so has everywhere. I’m super glad they finally started using the drive thru window for pick up since covid! Thank you and please keep using it!

Food was great. Lots of menu items to order and not just Mexican food but some American favorites too. The place was a little run down a bit and could use a deep clean and a maintenance person. Heaps of food crumbs between table and wall. See picture
