What a gem of a breakfast place! I almost wish I didn’t leave a review because it will become even more popular than it already is.
Food came out quickly after ordering. It was hot and fresh. I was craving corned beef hash, and theirs was definitely worth the trek across the valley. The lattes were made perfectly. This is not your trendy breakfast place, even though it looks that way.
This is definitely my new breakfast place.
Extra special thank you to Shannon for making our first visit memorable with your friendly and great service. We’ll be back!

This was the best breakfast we’ve had in America! We’ve been travelling for weeks, and Vivian’s is our favourite. We’ve got the eggs Benedict and 2+2+2 (pancakes, eggs, bacon). The service was fantastic, the servers are so lovely and were really generous and attentive with refills. The atmosphere was so nice, plants everywhere and it reminded us a lot of home.

What a wonderful place this is. I had chocolate pancakes which were delicious
The cafe has a lovely outdoor seating area.
Staff are very friendly. My one regret is I only found Vivian’s on my last day in North Hollywood!

Food wasn’t bad but just ok. Presentation poor. Patio looked cool but they said there was a long wait for party of 7 although lots of empty tables that could have been put together. Lady and atmosphere inside were unwelcoming. Waiter was b friendly and decent. Never knew about it after 57 years living in the area and wouldn’t be in a rush to return for sure. So many better places nearby. Not sure what people in the reviews loved. I didn’t get that experience.

I removed three hair pieces from my omelet. Two of them were on the omelet, and I gave the benefit of the doubt that maybe I introduced them (it was unlikely because it was the very beginning of eating). Then, I saw one on the top side of the plate, and I decided not to continue.

I didn’t want to mention it to the person in charge. The lady looked like she was having a bad day; she wasn’t very kind to me when she got the order. Then, I heard her talking with a customer over the phone. She was a bit harsh to the customer, too. That was why I didn’t want to tell her I had hair on my plate.

I paid by cash as I saw a sign that they are charging 18% automatically for tap payment. She realized I looked at it, and she removed the sign.

I didn’t leave any tip, though, which I slightly regretted. I’m not sure what I can give tip for both hair and bad service. 🙂

Very strange experience.

Owners in the menu look like nice people. I don’t know she is relative to the owners, but I hope owners would take this review as a feedback to improve things. Everyone can have a bad day, but this is a service business. If you have a bad day rely on your staff to handle front end of things.

We had a late lunch here. The place looks small from the front but the back part has a covered and open air patio. I had the Whit’s veggie sandwich. Other people in the group mostly got breakfast breakfast items. Everything was very tasty.

Located in Studio City and serving patrons since 1964, Vivian’s is a classic diner option in the valley. It’s very small on the inside with only a few large tables. They also have more seating in the back, but we were able to find a seat for two in the front for a 10:30 Sunday brunch. They don’t have a dedicated parking lot so it will be metered street parking, which is not that hard to find in the valley. Our server was polite and all of our items came out quickly. I am giving 4/5 stars because the food quality isn’t as good as some other places close by like More Than Waffles, Bob’s, or Paty’s and the inside could use a cleaning. The floor was very dirty under our table and the table next to us even complained about it.

I started off with a Coffee, which is my go to order at any diner. For my meal I chose the Eggs Benedict with a Biscuit on the side. The Eggs Benedict had a nice flavor but the eggs were undercooked and runny. They did not have the true poached consistency with the yolk covering the dish, it was too watery and splashed out as soon as I cut into it. Also the biscuit was as flat as an English muffin and really lacked the biscuit or buttermilk flavor. We also ordered the 2x2x2 and the pancakes were actually very good, but it’s also very hard to mess up pancakes. It was not a bad meal by any means, but certainly not as good of one as others I have had close by on the same street.

Overall I would say it could be an option if you’re already in the valley and the more popular spots have too long of wait times.
