The perfect lunch does exist! My favorite lunch spot. Lunch special includes soup or salad. Salad arrived in an adorable heart shaped bowl.

Warning !! ❌ this is the worst place I have ever eaten at , I ordered Japanese noodles with chicken and vegetables that cost 20$ and not worth 50 cents everything was so disgusting I couldn’t even start eating I was expecting nice served in a bowl and I got 2 plastic containers of old food that were probably heated in the microwave, the workers were very rude when I asked for a bowl, they brought me a plastic cup and told me to pour the food, after that I asked for a refund because they served me food like DOG, they started arguing with me that I’m wrong and that’s how they serve it, by far the worst experience ever, beware everyone, never go to this restaurant, the worst possible experience ever ❌❌❌❌❌ ❌❌

I ordered a sweet potato roll just now from door dash. As I finished my sweet potato roll, I had noticed these two small pieces of plastic in the container. Now idk if these people hate me, because this isn’t the first time I’ve found foreign objects in my food, but I will not be purchasing from here again, and no one else should if they don’t wanna end up eating plastic or metal.

My second takeout order in 2 weeks was even better than before. Teriyaki bento boxes with extremely generous portions of salmon and shrimp teriyaki, shu mai, two giant shrimp tempura and veggies, a sushi roll, rice, miso soup, and salad. Great value and very fresh and tasty.

Fantastic sushi for reasonable prices. The atmosphere inside is rather downscale, but that is more than made up for by the excellent, consistently pleasant and timely service, and excellent sushi. I have been a dozen times and am headed there now. It always feels like a deal, and in particular the Vegas Roll is great bang for your buck. No joke, compared to the local competition, this place is the winner hands down. Don’t spend $15 for a simple tuna roll!

It’s right downtown on Front Street next to many over priced eateries. A gem in a vast wasteland of ridiculous restaurants that forget we are not in Manhattan!!

Greenport has a pretentious, greedy, rat race side to it. This is the antidote! Good healthy fresh food at good prices. Nice service and no indoor fake fireplaces to pay for. Highly recommend.

Traveling Motor Coach Gourmets
We are the traveling Motor Coach Gourmets. We frequent restaurants in many different cities and review them. Our ratings are as fair as we can make them as our reviews and yours can also impact a business owner. If we can’t give a 4 or 5 star review, or we don’t care for the service or food, we hold our review and give the place in question a 2nd and 3rd try. If after that, still not to our liking, then we rate the establishment.

We are vacationing in Greenport and there are limited area restaurants that are not tourist traps or just bad food. It was a nice surprise to enter Sakura. The waitress seated us promptly and was very attentive. Water was brought promptly as we were quite thirsty. We ordered and the soup and salad were brought quickly. The soup was delicious; the word excellent comes to mind. The salad was equally as delicious. Both were indeed very, very good.

I ordered a lobster roll plus an order of tuna sushi and Tracy ordered chicken tempura. I also ordered a couple of specialty sauces which came on time prior to my meal which was nice to see. The waitress as was previously mentioned, was very attentive.

Anyway, the tuna sushi was very good as was the lobster roll but I thought the roll had a tad too much rice. The chicken tempura was also very good but we thought it had too much breading. There was plenty to eat.

Overall a pleasant meal. I would rate this place a 4 star restaurant if it were in a large city but being it’s in a one horse town and the only sushi restaurant, we’ll give it 5 stars.

I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

The Sushi & Sashimi combo was amazing!! Enough to share for 2 people, or plenty for 1 hungry person! Also had the Pork Gyoza and Coconut Shrimp appetizers. Highly recommend those as well!

Sakura continues to create 5 star meals (shown: Sushi for Two 8-22-20) three years after my initial rating. The sushi is super fresh, delicious & plentiful, the soup & salad are perfect. It’s the best deal on the North Fork. Thank you!

The one in Riverhead is much better. Went there for my daughter’s last day before going to college. They no longer sell plum wine which is on the menu. Ordered chicken fried rice which came after the sushi rolls and was not chicken, it was vegetable fried rice. Beer was warm. Sent the rice back and she tried to charge me for it. Bad experience . Not ever going back. No wonder we were the only one’s there when Greenport was crowded at 6pm. When it first opened it was ok, now it’s terrible.

This is our Go To place for a night out; usually every week. We enjoy our regular visits to the restaurant. The food is great and the prices are very reasonable. If we can’t make it, take out is, our next choice. You will not be disappointed.
