The service was good, the food decent and the drink pleasant. I had the shepherd’s pie and too much of it was mashed potatoes vs the “real” stuff. But it was good and I enjoyed it. The only thing that I didn’t like, and this isn’t the fault of the pub, was the horrible parking nearby. If you can Uber, taxi, Lyft… Then that would be a better option.

Paddy’s and Kells are fine spots if you’re heading downtown, but on the central Eastside this is the Irish pub I’d want to hang out in. A really comfortable place to enjoy a pint, and their fish & chips alone are worth the trip. Really good selection of proper Irish brews on tap as well as a respectable whiskey selection.

I’ve been to Ireland (& Ulster) a dozen times on business, and never heard more authentic Irish music than you’ll hear at O’Leary’s on a Sunday afternoon. Check it out!

Tom runs a great establishment. The food is lovely, the drinks are cold and the atmosphere always fits the occasion. Whether there is live music, whiskey tastings, or Sunderland AFC on the screen, you wind find a better spot to grab a pint and enjoy yourself!

This is a fantastic Irish Family owned pub with a decent food menu and lots of drinks, and of course, those cocktail specials. Great live music from local artists, which don’t overpower the place. Patio seating front and back, street side has nice covered seating. You have to try to ice cream and whisky special. Lots of Guinness, great pints.

Best shepherds pie in the Pacific Northwest! Hands down! The pub feels really authentic inside – don’t miss the live music every evening when you visit (it is worth it!).

A traditional Irish bar that serves various foods. Spent a few hours here while in town and had a great time. We drank Guinness and shots of Jameson and had some tasty fish and chips. A very cozy comfortable place with a friendly bar tender and good service. Outdoor area with a dart board and covered for cold rainy days. May only complaint is they don’t have a waitress and you have to order at the cash register, which isn’t a big deal, but it isn’t clear to new customers. We had a great time and the food was yummy. Just felt like we were putting the bartender out since we weren’t sure how to order. Also, he didn’t tell us what to do, just that we had to wait for 10 mins. I would recommend and go back, just know things work a little different here.

They had a whiskey tasting while having normal guests….which was fine….but…. I was talking to my friend at the bar (normal volume) and the owner told us we needed to stop talking…. I have been to Irish bars all over Ireland (Dublin, Killlerany, Kilrush, Dublin, Kilkee,, etc) and the world (Jerusalem, Rome, Edinburgh, etc) – never been treated so poorly. Not a true Irish bar or hospitality.

Genuine irish bar. Had the seafood chowder with soda bread and it was fantastic. They had Czechvar (Budvar) on tap which is hard to come. Bartender/server was AWESOME! Highly recommended.

My favorite pub, especially on a rainy evening! My kids request the fish and chips, and will each happily devour the adult portion. I’m partial to the shepherd’s pie, it’s just so delicious and homey- it feels like it was made with love. The bar is familiar, cozy, and lovely. On a nice day, they open up the big windows that face Alberta street, and they have soft serve ice cream. Just a happy spot.

with our any doubt Tom runs the best Irish pub in all of Portland. short of an 8 hour flight you’ll find nothing closer to the genuine article. great food, nice Guinness, pure craic.
