Visited Karma’s Coffee House in downtown Cullman and had an excellent experience. The staff was extremely kind, and the barista, Tannah, answered every question I had with patience and enthusiasm. The shop has a calm, relaxed atmosphere—perfect for quiet conversations, getting work done, or even a casual date.

I ordered a medium dark roast drip coffee sourced from Non-Fiction Coffee Co. out of Birmingham, and it was both high quality and very reasonably priced. Service was fast, and the coffee was outstanding.

Karma’s has a wide variety of offerings, and I took plenty of photos because there’s genuinely a lot to see: drink menus, holiday specials, food options, bakery items, and an entire shelf near the entrance featuring multiple coffees, teas, and related accessories. It’s a well-stocked, thoughtfully designed space with a welcoming vibe.

Friendly staff, great coffee, quick service, and a peaceful atmosphere—definitely worth a stop in downtown Cullman.

A very pleasant surprise. Great local coffee shop. Lots of options. Plenty of sugar and dairy free options as well. Iced, hot, or frappe. Definitely worth stopping by. The baristas were helpful with suggestions very friendly.

Great environment with ample seating. The hot cortado and cappuccino were both good. I recomend a visit after dark during one of the towns festivals, such as the christmas festival. Sit by the window and watch the small train rides going down the street!

I’ve been coming to Karma’s Coffee House in Cullman, AL, for over 10 years, and it continues to be my go-to spot for coffee, food, and just hanging out. Over the past decade, I’ve seen this place grow, evolve, and stay true to its mission of providing not just great coffee, but a welcoming, community-centered space.

From the very first time I walked in, I was struck by the warm, inviting atmosphere. Karma’s has perfected the balance between cozy and vibrant. The exposed brick walls, comfortable couches, eclectic artwork, and natural light streaming through the large windows make it a space where you want to linger. Even after 10 years, it’s still my favorite spot to sit with a laptop, read, or catch up with friends. The layout is perfect for both quiet moments and casual socializing.

The coffee has always been top-notch. I’ve tried almost every drink on their menu over the years, and each visit delivers consistent quality. Whether it’s a classic cappuccino, a strong “Shot in the Dark,” or one of their creative seasonal specials, the coffee never disappoints. The baked goods and food menu have also impressed me—things like their Lemon Blueberry Toga cookies, flatbreads, and chicken salads have become staples for me. Over the years, I’ve noticed they always source fresh ingredients and even include local items when possible, which shows real care and dedication.

The staff at Karma’s is another reason I keep coming back. They remember regulars’ names, favorite drinks, and always greet everyone with a smile. Even after 10 years, I still feel that personal connection that makes a chain coffee shop feel impossible to replicate.

One of the things I love most is how Karma’s has become a true community hub. Over the years, they’ve hosted events, live music nights, and special seasonal activities. I’ve attended latte-art classes, small local art shows, and anniversary celebrations—things that make it feel like more than just a coffee shop.

The shop has improved in small ways too—WiFi has become more reliable, seating has been refreshed, and the bathrooms are always clean. Even with occasional busyness, the vibe remains comfortable and welcoming.

After a decade of visits, I can honestly say Karma’s Coffee House is a Cullman treasure. The combination of excellent coffee, delicious food, a cozy atmosphere, and a truly community-focused experience keeps me coming back year after year. It deserves 5 out of 5 stars, and I look forward to the next ten years of visiting.

I’ve been coming here for years and usually love this coffee shop, but today was disappointing. It wasn’t busy, yet it took 24 minutes to get my coffee. When I said “thank you,” the barista just turned away. The staff seemed more focused on talking about their shifts and concerts than helping customers. I really hope this was just an off day — this place is normally so much better.
I’m leaving this review not out of frustration, but because I truly value this place and want to see it continue to be the warm, customer-focused coffee spot it’s always been.

The BEST coffee shop around! The friendliest people. Amazing service. I could see myself coming here almost every day. Chris and Emma (pictured) and all the other baristas are the best.

This place was my choice to grab a coffee from on my wait out of Cullman after a short visit. It was solid!

The interior is decorated really nicely, kind of cool and funky vibes with a surprising amount of space available to hang out. Cute merchandise for sale too.

I had a little bit of trouble finding the menu but eventually found it on a paper card placed somewhat inconspicuously near the register.

I was only interested in coffee but they have a decent selection of cafe-type food and other beverages. They have seasonal specials and more standard, always-available house specials. I selected one of these and got a small iced Turtle latte, which had chocolate, caramel, and praline flavors.

I thought service was a little standoffish and put-upon seeming, but I wouldn’t say they were rude; just not super welcoming. My drink was made and served quickly and I got back on the road.

The drink was good! Nice balance of ice to liquid and a yummy, sweet, rich turtle flavor. There was a slight artificially nutty aftertaste that I’d guess was the praline that I didn’t love, but overall this was a solid drink that I’d probably order again.

Give them a try if you’re in the area.

2025 UPDATE:
We decided to give Karma’s Coffee another shot, but unfortunately, it was pretty much the same as before. The staff still seemed irritable and not friendly, which again made us feel more like an inconvenience than customers. We had to ask multiple times about our drinks and food, which was frustrating. Again, the HIGH prices…

On the bright side, there’s a nice bookish vibe that gives it that cozy feel. With the exposed bricks/ductwork, mismatched secondhand furniture, and a small selection of books, it does seem like a good spot to relax and chat with friends… Still, I’ll be looking for a different coffee place next time! Somewhere the employees attitudes match the chill atmosphere.

2024 REVIEW:
Oh, what a delightful experience this was! I hardly know where to start, but let’s dive right in. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty by the charming twenty-something girl at the register, who was just radiating maturity with her bratty teenager attitude. Cue sighing, eye rolling, and finger tapping. She was ever so polite and took her sweet time with us while we were merely contemplating the seasonal drink menu—what a hassle that must’ve been for her! It’s not like there was anyone else in line behind us, and the place was bustling with activity… oh wait, it wasn’t. And how lovely to see so many employees loitering around, glued to their phones, engaged in deep and meaningful conversations about absolutely nothing—real productivity at its finest!

After an eternity of indecision—just three minutes, but who’s counting?—we finally made our selections (the photos should be a real treat for you). We placed our orders at 10:48 AM—thank you, Google Maps Timeline! But then, in a shocking turn of events, we waited 20 minutes for our drinks. After being so rushed, I was surprised to be left waiting. After about ten minutes I bravely went up to ask about them, and the girl behind the counter looked at me like I was speaking Klingon. Another ten minutes passed and I had to request our drinks… for the second time! And here we were, twenty minutes into this exhilarating saga, still no food in sight. I approached the counter once more to inquire about our buffalo chicken flatbread and breakfast croissant, only to be met with a look that screamed, “IDGAFSTFU.”

Surprise, surprise! Our orders were apparently entered into the system only after I had asked about them THRICE. The receipt that came on our to-go bag (we requested dine-in) conveniently timestamped that revelation at 11:04 AM. I wish the prices were listed on our receipt —it would have shown their borderline criminal pricing for such “exceptional” service and “gourmet” food.

An hour later, at noon, we were still holding onto hope for our food. We watched other tables of 4 or more come in, place orders, eat, socialize and then leave all before we got our two sandwiches. I graciously asked about our food yet again, and finally, our meal arrived. I excitedly took a bite of my grape salad, and guess what? A delightful surprise—a chunk of plastic bag! How refreshing! We left immediately after that treat, the rest of the food untouched. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy—because even they don’t deserve this mistreatment.
