What a wonderful surprise Zhang Bistro was! Even during Mardi Gras it wasn’t too crowded, and the staff was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and didn’t try to rush us.
We had a picky eater and a vegetarian with us, so we didn’t know what to expect. Fortunately there were lots of options, and everyone loved what they ordered. There were also a lot of forks crossing over at the table as we tried each others meals.
The cocktail menu was adventurous and had lots of great options as well. This has definitely become one of my go-to French Quarter restaurants – see you soon!

Where to begin? A wonderful restaurant where every little thing is thoughtfully taken care of. We are vegan/vegetarian and enjoyed every appetizer and entree.
To start with the server (can’t remember his name) was warm and welcoming, not rushed. He brought water without being asked and no ice waters…Thank you for that! The glasses are not giant but thoughtfully regular size and light. Cloth napkins… small details but make a huge difference.
Steamed dumplings, tofu coconut soup, tofu fresh rolls were all fresh, delicious and so good on flavors. The hoisin peanut sauce was also delish. We also had sautéed vegetables and Thai red curry with Jasmine rice. Not something to notice but I felt the rice tasted so good! We also added a side of steamed broccoli. Our kids loved their food an we did not have to get them to eat it, it was eaten pretty quick.
Music was great a just the right volume. Server was attentive and thoughtful.
This restaurant will be my most fond memory from NOLA visit. Many thanks to the Chef!

Our party of 6 quite enjoyed this lovely eatery on our recent visit to NOLA. We sampled several dishes including the Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, fried rice, coconut chicken soup, Crispy Chicken, fried pork dumplings, cream cheese wontons, a cocktail (which I think was called the witches brew, but don’t quote me on that), and two other soups that completely escape me. Everything was delicious. The coconut chicken soup was delightfully refreshing with a zing of lemongrass. The wontons and dumplings were completely devoured. The pad thai wasn’t spicy in the slightest, so if you prefer a bit of spice, you might ask your server to adjust the heat on it. The cocktail was fabulous.
The place was a bit difficult to get to, and navigating the area at night might not be the easiest with all the road construction taking place (none of which is the restaurant’s fault). In spite of those challenges, this place is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

My partner and I have always been fans of Zhang Bistro, so we decided to have our wedding rehearsal dinner here. I cannot even begin to describe the amount of care, dedication and hard work Ashley and her team went into making our event special! She, Lily, and Cyprian decorated the tables, provided fresh flowers and even printed out special menus for us. My youngest nephew who has special needs is typically a picky eater, but Ashley and her team went out of their way to create him separate dishes that he loved and ate. The food, drinks and ambiance were beyond spectacular, and I would recommend Zhangs Bistro to everyone!

Outstanding meal! Quickly seated at 7pm on Friday night and food was served soon after.
GENERAL TSO SAUCE AND CHICKEN – perhaps THE BEST Chinese dish I’ve ever had.
Huge portion too – great value for money at $16

This place is great. We ordered Pad Thi. The medium spicy is plenty spicy for most people. I asked other patrons here their most favorite dish. They said that fried rice was the best.

I didn’t try the food but instead sat at the bar and had drinks with my friend. Everything looked & smelled delicious, the service was excellent, and the people were extremely friendly. I’ll definitely be back here to enjoy the food aside from the delicious drinks. Many locals also swear by this place so if you’re in town, definitely stop by! Pictured here, is the wonderful host that I made pose for a picture.

We had a delightful dinner at Zhang Bistro; it was the first time we’ve not ordered takeout. The food was flavorful; I ordered pad Thai and my spouse ordered the kung pao combo. Both were slightly sweeter than expected, but we easily remedied that with a dash or two of chili oil. We started with the fresh rolls—very good—and the spicy garlic edamame—superb! Oh, and the old fashioned is really special. We will be back to support this delightful French Quarter corner!

We decided to eat here sept 25th, food was delicious & quiet and peaceful inside the restaurant . We had a server named Andrew ( white guy ) who informed us he just started working there so we gave him grace . He brings out our food and forget to put my pepper steak on the grill so it could smoke but we gave him grace because he claimed he was new . We get done with our food and I pay with my card & pack up. We make it down the street ( right out the restaurant ) past dp dough and our server ran after us with hostility saying “was something wrong with our service because you didn’t tip, u spend $60, and your that broke you couldn’t tip” which I felt is completely unacceptable and unprofessional! I’m so scared to come back . We couldn’t tip because I’m not financially in a good situation to tip yet we still wanted to eat out and get a good taste because I’m pregnant . I love zhang bistro but I never expected to be harrased and followed by Andrew

Very nice and welcoming establishment. We were greeted and seated as soon as we walked in. The fried rice with soy sauce and beef with general tso sauce was delicious. Yudha provided such great service, very attentive and making sure everything was going great. With the construction so close by, this place could be easily missed, but don’t pass up the opportunity to dine in. The music was also nice and at a comfortable volume and it’s one of the quieter restaurants in the area which is a plus.
The cream cheese wontons were also a great appetizer!
