I ordered the oxtail plate this afternoon. The wait was not long for the food and it came out fresh and hot. The flavor is amazing. The only complaint I have is that I should’ve ordered extra gravy! My order came with three sides, which were plantains, cabbage, rice and peas. you also have the choice of another rice or steamed veggies. I will be back to try out other items on the menu thank you for your quick and pleasant service!! Also thank you for being open on a Monday!

Very great customer service by the guy at the front counter, but the food was not the best. I love oxtails and I’ve had them from multiple places… I hate to say that these were probably the worst I’ve had. They were not tender at all and the gravy tasted funny, so did the cabbage. I wont say the food was complete garbage, but it just wasn’t for me, so I won’t go back. But A-1 for stellar service!!

I was in the area, coming from Charlotte, on my way up North, and decided to stop in to check out the mall. Since I had not had lunch, I walked around the food court to see what they had to offer. I noticed A Taste of Home and saw my favorite food, oxtail. I was greeted by one of the most pleasant ladies. She welcomed me and took my order.
I decided to eat my food in the car because I had an appointment in 40 minutes, so I wouldn’t have a microwave to reheat the food after my appointment, which would’ve taken almost two hours. I consider myself an oxtail aficionado. When I tasted the oxtail, it didn’t have the flavor that I’m accustomed to. It was different. It was more of a barbecue/tomato taste type of flavor. Don’t be mistaken–it was good nonetheless, but just different. The cabbage and the rice were good as well. Everything was seasoned perfectly. I didn’t have to add salt or anything to the dish. The portion sizes were decent for $25. I definitely recommend you go there because next time I’m in the area, I’m going to stop in and grab me another plate!

I got the curry goat plate. The goat itself was good. It was nice and tender and flavored well, everything else on my plate was inedible. The rice and peas were dry and hard. The plantain was dry and hard, the cabbage was barely chopped and not flavored well.

Wow, mind blown so spicy and rich creamy noodles. The jerk chicken Rasta pasta was so good. You got to go to the four seasons mall food court which is on the 3rd floor and try their food. They even deliver with door dash.

I have never even been able to eat here. The time before last, I waited in line for over an hour, only for them to run out of everything. They didn’t even have the sense to let us know. No alerts, no acknowledgment of customers waiting in line, nothing. When they start running out of food, they just stay silent.
The second time I tried to give them my money (though it seems like they don’t even want money), they just stopped cooking. I guess there was some kind of fire alarm or false alarm, but all the other restaurants kept serving food except them. Mind you, it was nowhere near closing time, yet they simply decided to stop cooking and didn’t even bother to inform people who were already in line.
To make it worse, they even claimed that some of the meals were “too much” for them to cook, despite still having three hours left before closing. On top of that, they argue with customers, refuse to acknowledge people in line, and get attitudes whenever customers ask questions. That’s just the kind of restaurant they are.
People say the food is good, and I’ve tried to give them a chance twice, but I’ve never even been able to enjoy it. You know why? Because it’s always something with this place. Always. Their customer service is absolutely trash, and I pity anyone who wastes their time standing in that line.

Paid $24 dollars for these thin cut oxtails. ONE decent size oxtail. Other small bits and bones with slithers of meat. When asked about the size of oxtail buddy started turning over bones trying to count. Smh. I’ll drive to Burlington or Durham. This is a no go.

I spotted this home food right in the mall and decided to try it. I truly missed home after trying it. Rice with beans, fried plantains, goat meat. Everything was on point and less expensive.
