Was in the area and found it on Google. Glad I did! Food was excellent and the drinks were good. This is an old place with lots of history. Definitely be back to try the different options. Service was just OK. My drink sat at the Bar for 5 minutes while my server sat and talked to a customer, and then blamed it on the Kelly. (Whoever that is) I saw the bartender make my drink. You don’t have to lie! Overall good food! Give it a try!

This was our first visit to the tavern and it was our first official dinner in retirement. The food was phenomenal, especially the prime rib and the wings. The service was phenomenal and we loved being in such a historic old building. We highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion!

My husband and I stopped for dinner, we hadn’t been for a while. It didn’t disappoint, the complimentary cinnamon rolls are so good. They were warm and the icing was gooey. I got the big fish sandwich with fries and he got wings with fries and Cole slaw. It was delicious! They were a little behind in the kitchen so we had a little wait after we ordered. We will definitely be back!

We found this place on a whim leaving London. Sat in the bar area, but regular dining was available also. Awesome atmosphere and a great host staff who took wonderful care of us. Local patrons at the bar were lively and laughing, and with the jukebox, it was a very cozy dinner.

Wife and I went for our anniversary. We had a great dinner. Filet mignon melted in your mouth. Also got the fish and chips and giant pretzel. Everthing was delicious. Waitress and staff were so friendly. We will definitely go back. Ohhh and the cinnamon rolls that are complementary… yum!!! So delicious! I do wish they had Dr Pepper tho

My husband got the chicken sandwich. He said it was a bit dry but flavor was good. The French fries were good and crispy! I got the burger with broccoli and Mac and cheese. The burger was good but could’ve used some more seasoning. The broccoli was done perfectly and I highly recommend the Mac and cheese. I added some pepper but it was delicious. We also got the loaded tots as an appetizer, but they didn’t come to us until after our main dishes were served. The tots were amazing, but we hoped for them to come out first. My husband asked a couple times for ranch, but he never got it. My nephew asked for napkins a couple times before getting them. Our waitress was very kind and generous, but there was room for improvement. It was $1 wing night, and my dad and nephew mentioned they weren’t bad.
I do recommend trying this place out. The atmosphere was unique and comfortable. Maybe the bathrooms can be labeled a bit more clearly, but it was overall a good experience.

Very nice little tavern, it has some history which is neat. It is a nice surprise out in a remote area. The food is really good and the menu has some nice choices. The bartender as super friendly and attentive. I’ll definitely be back here soon!

For starters, I owed the Historic Red Brick Tavern an apology. I drove past the place for many, many years, never stopped in. Shame on me. Last Wednesday was my first experience. It was our uncles birthday. First off, the soft style homemade cinnamon rolls/biscuits were awesome. Wednesday also happened to be chefs prime rib special. Who knew. The food is outstanding. Thick cut of perfection. French seasoned and well executed reverse sear. The flavor – a must come see for yourself. The mac n cheese, well look at the photos. We ordered wings as well as the 1 lbs muscles for appetizers. Krazy delicious! You want the lemon pepper wings. You have to have the muscles. The food made me come back this Wednesday. Consistency achieved, this hidden GEM was worth the drive. Located just west of Columbus in a very old historic 1800’s building. The amount of food, the flavors, and the prices make this a new home away from home. Met one of the cooks. Humble and appreciative. Sir, the food was simply amazing. Try the food, and let it speak for itself. I’ll be back next Wednesday.

This was our first visit to the Red Brick, but it definitely will not be our last. We’ve been living about 15 minutes away for about 20 years and never really visited—a pity on us.
Inside the tavern, the atmosphere is welcoming and cozy, with the dining area split into different rooms due to its age and province.
We went for Thanksgiving dinner. When we walked in, the smell was absolutely wonderful. They had dinner at a spread-out buffet with tons of food. Turkey, ham, stuffing, sweet potato casserole, salad, and the usual you would expect to find for Thanksgiving. Their selection of pies was excellent, with just about every pie you can imagine.
You could go back to the buffet as often as you liked, and we definitely took advantage of that. To say that we waddled out would be an understatement LOL. They also have a great selection of wine, and we ordered a bottle of what turned out to be an excellent Italian white wine. You can also order by the glass, and they offer three sizes, so you can order the exact amount of wine you want.
Service, as you would expect by now, was really top-notch, with our server taking some time to get to know us and to do a little chitchat, which we very much appreciated and to give us bit of the inn’s history. She even offered to go to the buffet for us a couple of times, since my wife currently has a bit of a mobility issue.
They have a wall showing lithographs of eight American presidents who have visited and also stayed at the inn. The inn is over 150 years old and used to be a way stop on the way to the West. Consider the number of dignitaries who have visited, which underscores its historical significance.
By now, you probably understand our rating of the tavern. It is a true gem on Route 40 that you should take the time to visit and enjoy the ambience and great food!
You need to put it on your list of must-visit places, and you may end up with a new favorite quaint restaurant. It will definitely be on ours.
