Ok, I love Starbucks, but today was tough. Spent 45 minutes waiting for my drink. There should be a way the baristas can stop mobile orders when they have 30 drinks to make and one person making them. I was leaving town and had a 3 hour drive ahead of me and waited way too long for this drink. There were many frustrated people in there today.

The drinks are always good and the staff is always friendly, but the wait times for drinks are so inconsistent. It’s hard to stop before work because you never know if your mobile order will be ready in 5 minutes or 30 minutes. This morning, there were 5 staff working, no line and an iced tea still took 20 minutes. It’s the only Starbucks in and close to Pekin so I think people will continually return, but hopefully to see more consistency in the future.

Today’s experience was extremely slow. The people were kind and helpful but they were very overworked or short staffed. I just don’t understand why a four peice order doesn’t get served all at once. It took about 35 minutes to get two drinks, sandwich, and a cranberry cake. Which was served one at a time between other people’s orders. I recommend to use the drive thru.

Over an hour for two coffees. Ridiculous. No management on site, no ability to cancel orders or process refunds for online orders. Seriously, how long does it take to mix up powdered fruity drinks? I’m done with Starbucks.

They took over 45 minutes to make 2 drinks and give 1 muffin and 1 hot food just for the food to be cold. Blamed it not enough staff but they had 10 employees with 2-3 of them standing around talking. People coming in after us got drinks within 5-10 minutes. Absolutely ridiculous.

Folks here are slow and very short and nasty with customers. Refuse to wait on you if your smoking a cigarette in your car. Also coffee does not taste right sometimes and when you ask for them to remake it the staff gets an attitude. I suggest folks to go to east peoria or peoria locations much better employees and they are just the sweetest folks ever. Never have had any nasty things happen at any of the other locations I go to. I spend at least 100 to 150 just in coffee every week. So the Pekin location is really missing out on good customers that don’t mind paying 7 dollars per a cup and leaving a tip everytime. I went to Pekin location 2 times and that was 2 times too many for the treatment I received.

Closed lobby due to lack of staff BUT left mobile ordering on. I showed up to pick up my pre-paid drink and had to wait for more than 30 minutes, making me late getting to where I needed to be.

It makes me sad to say this, but I’m hoping it can encourage change. The inconsistency with this Starbucks is so frustrating. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve driven through Pekin hoping to stop and they’re closed (I’m assuming due to short staff). I wait for long periods of time for pickup orders or just going through the drive through in general. It seems like there’s a lack in proper management to keep a tight ship and train well while also retaining employees better. I know turn over happens often in this industry, but it’s clear that this Starbucks has issues that others don’t. I hope this can be resolved and I can have more confidence in this place to deliver.
