One of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had in my entire existence. The Big Dave’s is got so much love. It’s worth the cost.

Haven’t been in quite a while so stopped for a pizza. According to the older woman at the counter when I inquired whether their “black olives” are indeed black olives or kalamata olives? (There IS a distinct difference.) I was abruptly told “Yes, we have black kalamata olives.” Good grief.
I asked for a bacon pizza. The dough being bread dough an inch thick and the cheese being 2″ thick. Being Damon’s, I did not expect them to use that cheap crap full of all the scraps leftover from making hot dogs. The “bacon” crumble. Good Lord. Couldn’t eat it.

Have driven by Damon’s tons of times but always at night when they were closed. Drove down from Rangeley today and ordered a Big Dave Roast Beef Grilled. Sandwich was massive ! Absolutely Delicious! Could have fed 2 very hungry people. Staff was great! Absolute great experience!

This place is hit or miss. I ordered a calzone, loaded and there was no bacon, no peppers or onions. All of which are fairly standard in a loaded calzone or pizza. Got a steak bomb yesterday, it felt like I was carrying out a sub roll with nothing inside. There was steak but it was very skimpy. The taste in everything is great.

Had their loaded steak suggested to me by them, staff was a pleasure to talk to. Direct hit! Bread was nice and toasty, meat was seasoned nice, veggies good and sandwich was flavorful but not soggy so it would fall apart and def hit the spot. Solid old school pizza spot to sit down and have a nice bite in my humble estimation.

The food was amazing! I finally found my new “go to” for subs and pizza… just wish the hours were better! Get there when they are open, worth the trip!

I discovered Damon’s about three years ago and have made a trip there about every other month ever since.
It’s a simple pizza and sandwich shop where you place your order at the counter, find a seat and wait for your name to be called.
The staff is friendly, cheerful and ready to serve.
The fare is simple but very well prepared. The decor is simple but very clean and well maintained.
I highly recommend Damon’s for a simple but well prepared meal. There is more parking in the rear.

I used to frequent here quite often, and then I moved further away. I had always said they make the best roast beef Italian around, but sadly no more. The last few times I have ended up disappointed and it seems the consistency is an issue since my sub had mayo and mustard basically only on one side of one half of the sandwich. The other side had no mayo at all and a stain of mustard. The veggies like pickles and olives were hardly found at all and same with the onions. I will admit the roast beef was a good quality, yet it couldn’t save my over all disappointment. At almost $11 I would probably not want another after my last 3 visits. It’s just not what it used to be.

After years of frequenting Damon’s, finally the prices and lack of quality service has overtaken the usually good food, however, now the food has taken a step back, and so it’s absolutely no longer worth the cost.

A “Big Dave” is their flagship food item and it’s pathetic these days: it’s mostly bread and has a shadow of the toppings that once used to get jammed into this monster sub. The cost on this is $22! See the picture below for just how disproportionate the bread to toppings ratio has become.

It’s clear that they don’t teach or train how to speak to customers. When you pay, their folks tend to be rude with a lack of professionalism. Busy or not, I usually feel rushed or feel like they are rushed. They cannot be trusted to do what you ask. Mayo on the side? Extra dipping sauce? These requests have been a miss for years, but it’s even worse these days. They serve hot and cold food, but take no steps to ensure hot stays hot and cold stays cold. You wanted cold Cole slaw? Unfortunately they package it in the container with hot fries and chicken. I want my sub to be cold, but they put it in the bag with the fried food. I’ve even had entire orders (hot and cold food) all placed on the top of their oven, which is just the worst place for cold items.

Just not what it used to be.

Overall the meatball sub was ok. Plenty of meatballs and just the right amount of sauce vs. cheese. But if you are going to charge $1.09 for onions and another $1.09 for green pepper then I expect to see more of both on my sandwich. Definitely not worth the upcharge for such a small portion of both veggies. I have eaten here before and the service is always great, but the sandwiches are just average or a touch above. Nothing special at least not for the premium price you will pay for extras.
