On the corner of Highland and 20th St., the delicious aroma of Phoenix pizza is stopping traffic and turning heads throughout the intersection and onto Camelback. The cops tried to get cars moving again, but they were instantly distracted by the enchanting smell of fresh mozzarella and took five to grab a slice at NYPD Pizza.
Head into our Phoenix pizza joint for a pie that tastes better than any other on Camelback! Or, call us for Phoenix pizza delivery on the double. Because sometimes you just want to messily gorge yourself in your pajamas without people staring or the waitress offering you napkins with a concerned look in her eye. We’ve totally been there.
Casual local chain with East Coast-style, thin-crust pizzas, calzones & local brews on tap.

Being from New York I’m very particular about food. There’s really really good food in New York after moving here I have not found many that serve good New York food but NYPD pizza certainly does. The crust as a nice light crunch with chewiness The sauce and the cheese are really good as well.
Wings cooked perfectly with a nice sauce. Just a little bit of a crunch.
A nice tropical iced tea and some real New York cheesecake. And these guys are awesome The servers.

We stopped for takeout at NYPD Pizza at the Camelback Colonnade location formally known as the New York Pizza Department (NYPD Pizza) in Arizona. It is a family-owned pizzeria that brings authentic New York-style pizza to Phoenix. The restaurant uses high-quality ingredients, including a signature water blend that mimics New York City’s water. They only use fresh mozzarella and a tangy, homemade tomato sauce, all baked in stone ovens. In addition to pizza, they offer calzones, pastas, and wings. I was surprised how nice it was inside NYPD. I had the opportunity to meet the manager and some of the staff; everyone was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed some ziti marinara, a Caesar salad, a personal-sized cheese pizza, some of their delicious garlic knots, and for dessert, decadent chocolate cake. A portion of the proceeds of NYPD Pizza goes to support firefighters and first responders; so please support them.

I’m giving the pizza 5 stars. The pasta was delicious, I just wish it would have been a little hotter when it came out. The appetizers were definitely my least favorite. They had good flavor, they just were not crispy at all. I would still come back to this location!

I felt the need to give an update. I visit the location frequently and have been taking advantage of the “Too Good to Go” surprise bags, which are supposed to have a value of $18.00, but you get them for $5.99–a really good deal. I used to get four slices of pizza and a salad or sometimes a dessert. They have a new manager; everyone there is really friendly except for her. They have reduced the surprise bag size from four to two slices and a salad. When I questioned the size with her, she curtly replied, “That’s the way they trained me to do it. You get what we have left.” Needless to say, I was disappointed and didn’t really like the customer service she gave me. Now I have to decide if I will return, even though I like their pizza, because I left with a bad taste in my mouth, and it wasn’t from the pizza. I guess I can always go to the new Jet’s Pizza or maybe Crust or Doughbird in the neighborhood instead. I like them too, oh well!

Really? I would have expected 3 flats and 3 drummetts. Not happy. Note to self…not going back. Oh… I ordered a small and got/paid for a medium pizza. UPDATE: After this review I was contacted by NYPD and was assured that the employees were coached on the service I received. I will continue patronizing that location because they care about customer service.

I’m really not sure what to say about this pizza and its puzzle pieces!
I tried NYPD pizza a long time ago but, I don’t remember running into this issue. I’ll post pictures which will explain what I mean. I was so dismayed by the appearance of the slices that I couldn’t even eat them.
I guess I’m spoiled growing up in NYC and have been eating pizza since I was a child there. However, I’ve eaten pizza overseas and at some good places here in the valley but, nothing like what I was given here! I’m used to having the cheese melted and toppings incorporated into the sauce at least somewhat. As far as fresh??? Some of the chopped basil was black and very wilted not fresh or incorporated into anything just sprinkled on top.
Needless to say I will not be returning there or any of their locations. NYC style pizza anyone? Not here!!

Each dish was made fresh and came out hot and tasty. The waitress was quick, attentive, and professional. The establishment was clean, calm, and chill. This is a great weekday lunch place to get good food and enjoy.

We took our kid out for his birthday. We told the server, but he didn’t acknowledge it, neither did any of the staff. The staff stood around on their phones while we had to get up and ask for napkins, refill our drinks and prebus our own table. I ordered meatballs that were un eatable because they were old and dry covered in sauce. I pointed it out to the server and he didn’t say anything at all. We will not be returning, There’s quality pizza and service all around the area. go somewhere other than here!

The server here is so nice and passionate about the product he is selling which made me excited. And the food was wonderful. The wine was poured generously and the music was a vibe.
