Cool, little Mexican place in the South Hampton area. We had the guacamole, which was good, and the tortilla chips and the three different salsas were very good. Our fajitas were just ok. It was a lot of chicken and hardly any veggies. We had good service. Looks like they have a tent for outdoor seating in the good weather.

I used to go here 20+ yrs ago and really liked it. Yadayada, we had dinner there tonight and were very impressed. The service, the food, and of course the margaritas were top notch. If you’re looking for a good authentic Mexican restaurant this is it!

We tried this place on a whim because we live so close and hadn’t eaten there before. Boy, were we blown out of the water! We were able to do curbside pickup which helped me feel safe and at ease. The food was so delicious and flavorful. It truly had an authentic mexican feel and taste. The tamales were so wonderful and the masa was so smooth and flavorful. The portions were huge. We were so satisfied and cant wait to eat here again. We have finally found our new favorite local Mexican restaurant!

Really innovative options for the veggies and the pescies–err, pescatarians –among us. I arrived on a Monday afternoon–it’s hard to find any place open on Mondays in South City–and decided to sit on the patio, though it was arguably too cold for that. (I was warm from walking and optimistic.) Their chips are fairly good, but their salsas were the standout: salsa fresca, salsa verde, and one made from dried chilies.

I ordered sopes and tamales. I had heard of but never tried sopes, but they’re a great vegetarian option–just beans, cheese, and pico de gallo on a corn cake base. It comes with guac, as well. I also tried both the jalapeño and cheese tamales and the bean ones. The bean were plain but delicious with the salsas, which I’d hung onto so I could enjoy them with my meal. The jalapeño cheese ones were a revelation. Who knew vegetarian food could be this exciting?

My server was Fede and he was fantastic. He checked on me many times and asked how I liked everything. I had to get a to go container, as the sopes appetizer could easily be an entree, but I’m not at all upset about having another meal or two at home!

This has to be my new favorite for Mexican. Menu is unique, service is great and it’s a quaint little spot with great ambience. I had the create your own, cheese enchilada, chicken taco and we shared a sopapilla for dessert

The food is delicious. We had guacamole, chicken mole, and tostadas. The margaritas were just the right level of sweetness. The staff people were very attentive and friendly.

I’ve given this place multiple tries I really have, but it’s just the same thing as you can get at any other neighborhood spot with much higher prices. The steak fajitas were underseasoned and not cooked to order, and the enchiladas at $22!!!! are the same quality as a plate you would order at El Maguey. Burritos with your choice of meat is minimum $16. I understand that times are tough in this economy, but this feels like a place that has gone too far the other direction. There are more unique options nearby and for the same price or cheaper. Service is excellent though. And there is a nice patio that is great for good weather, but cannot possibly justify the prices.

It’s been probably a decade since I’d been here, and it was certainly different from what I remember. We stepped inside and were seated immediately, and I had forgotten this was a bit more upscale, a cloth napkin type of place.

Our server stopped by promptly with chips and three different types of salsa, returned with a couple waters, and took our order. The chips were fresh, with just the right amount of salt. The heat of the three were all pretty mild, and the two reds were good, but the verde was forgettable. I just wish they’d put it in bigger bowls… the chips have to be broken to properly scoop.

The burritos ordered were a good size and came in at about $10, but you’ll have to add $.50 each for lettuce and tomato, as well as $1 each for sour cream and cheese.

All in all a good place.
