Entirely on a whim, a dreary, rainy Friday night led to the Skylark Cafe & Club largely after perusing an eclectic menu.

In person, the establishment is sparse, with perhaps a dozen tables along one wall, a seating area to the side. Live music is featured; this diner did not attend the performance.

Two bacon cheeseburgers (very good; loaded with condiments), french fries (see photo), ONE Lemon Drop, and ONE Diet Seattle Soda became a $62 tab.

This was only disclosed after providing an $8 tip, for initially prompt, then absent, service.

The bill seemed high for two burgers, one cocktail, and one soda, and the bartender (not the server) explained that the fries were $4 per serving. That is consistent with the menu, however, when the order was placed, “Happy Hour” was in effect. It was the SERVER who advised the same, bringing our party’s attention to the $1 fries on the Happy Hour menu.

Were the burgers $15, $16 (as the menu seemed to suggest), or are they actually $18?

This will be a mystery since our party concluded a return will NOT be necessary.

If you bravely venture down the length of Delridge Avenue (from the south) or take the first right as you exit the West Seattle Bridge on Delridge, you can sample the burger for yourself, although, this diner will encourage CONFIRMING the price for every item order to avoid upset.

P.S. Dine soon. The establishment is in jeopardy of the upcoming West Seattle Light Rail service.

This place is amazing! The service is second-to-none, and the food is pretty much Michelin star worthy. My boyfriend got the smoked brisket breakfast tacos and I got the “Just Like Home” with a side of sausage. The meats were better than any I’ve ever had (sorry, Dad!) and everything else was great too. Cannot recommend this place enough! If you’re in the Seattle area, definitely encourage you to make your way to the Skylark Cafe!

Local friend recommended. Literally the best BLT I’ve ever had in my life. And I have had a lot of BLTs. This is actually a BLAT Since a little avocado is added. It’s the perfect touch.

Matt, the proprietor, cures his own bacon and it is unbelievable. Seasoned with a perfect blend that isn’t too spicy, isn’t too sweet, and isn’t too smokey. On top of that, it’s cooked perfection, so you’ll want to double up on your sandwich. The BLT is also toasted on the inside of the bread. Game changer.

Recommend the fries or tater tots as a compliment. And my buddy eating the brisket was loving it as well (Matt smoked as well). Oh, the hand breaded and fried chicken for the chicken salad is juicy, flavorful, and literally dissolves in your mouth. Pork pastrami is amazing.

Let me be clear… Matt is a meat genius. You can’t beat Matt’s meat, though you can meat Matt.

Karaoke seems to be something that everyone enjoyed. Cannot recommend this place enough.

I will be back.

Made driving to West Seattle worth it while the bridge was down! Dive but clean. Great menu with lots of vegetarian options but my favorite is their fried chicken. My god, their fried chicken. Great mixed drinks and tap selection as well. Great music (especially with their frequent live music) and great service.

My first visit was to see live music at this venue. The staff was welcoming and provide very good service. The food delicious. The band “Chonk” was very good, fun and entertaining.

Good music and decent food! It’s all ages which is rare for such a high-quality venue. I’d recommend stopping by for the open-mic night! It’s usually packed with lots of local talent.

BRUNCH. IS. BACK! And it’s better than it ever was. So much flavor, creativity, and heart goes into the experience at Skylark, yet the environment is never stuffy or fussy. It’s laid back, it’s casual, bu the food screams Michelin Star ingredients. It’s refreshing to finally have a worthy brunch spot in West Seattle again. Price points are perfect, portions are hearty, and if you like traditional run of the mill, that’s also on the menu. But if you want the best Pastrami Benedict, or Potato Cakes, or breakfast tacos, this is your spot.
They play cartoons for the kids on the projector, and they play the game once it comes on. Something for everyone! On site free parking, clean bathrooms, Welcome back Skylark Brunch!

Great stage here! Sometimes there are really talented open mic performers. The food and bar are also nice. Would give it 5 stars if the sound guy hadn’t rewritten the roster and favored other bands (making us wait 3 hours).

Very unique bar/cafe in West Seattle. We stayed in an Airbnb nearby and were looking to walk to food and drink. We stumbled into an incredible place. The owners are inviting and incredible. They cure their own meats, and make fresh everything! They use their own rhubarb to infuse liquor for drinks. We had the most amazing chicken tenders, brined and soaked in buttermilk then fried. It’s hard to make chicken amazing, but they do! I would love to try more. They have homemade everything from bean dip to salsa and chips!
