My husband took me there and my mother in law yesterday, 2/14/26. We paid a cover charge which I had no problem with since my mother in law just arrived from DR and usually the airlines do not give food on flight. The table had no utensils or dressing for salads. We waited 30 minutes for someone to come and ask what we wanted for drinks and another 30 for the drinks to come. We ordered steemed fish, la bandera (arroz, habichuela y pollo) and mofongo con chicharrón with side ensalada de papa. We had to wait another hour for the food and a plate came every so often, not all together. By the time my mother in law and I got the food my husband already was half way. My mofongo came with no meat in it and was told they can bring me another one but I already what the answer was going to be. There were 10 people ahead of me and I had to wait for them to get served for me to get what I had originally ordered. We ordered mashed potatoes and maduro frito which they said they had none and did not tell us till we asked due to not seeing it with the rest of the food. On top of that they charged us for their mistake and the waitress said it was a chef complaint and that’s why we were charged. Now my husband and mother in law are in the hospital due to food poisoning. This was the worst experience ever.

Ordered the grilled chicken breasts with rice and beans. It hit the spot. The portions are HUGE! Enough to take home and eat for lunch the next day. The waitresses are sweet and very attentive. First time in jersey. Definitely coming back.

Wife & I went there on 7/28/19 after a friend of ours kept telling us how good the mofongo was.
We got there around 2PM and the place was not crowded at all. As I mentioned above the food was good but our server was horrible as well as the overall service. We ordered the mofongo with chicharons as an appetizer to share and let the server know that we would order our entrees afterwards. After taking our appetizer order, she left with what seemed to be an attitude. Our mofongo was delivered about 15 minutes later by our server and we attempted to place our order for our entrees but our server quickly walked away and disappeared into the kitchen area.
Long story short..we left without tipping our server because of the piss poor service that she provided during the entire time we were there. Never coming back to check on us, us repeatedly having to flag her down as she walked by to place our order, ask for carry out containers after we finished eating, and to get our bill.

This restaurant was a wonderful surprise for us on a drive from Connecticut to Virginia. About 10-15 minutes from 95, the restaurant was open mid-morning on a Monday, and we were able to sit outside with our dogs. We had cafe con leche, pollo mofongo, tostones, and churassco and everything was so delicious. The service was fantastic and, although the servers didn’t speak much English, they were so patient with my limited Spanish. The restaurant was very clean inside and had a wonderful vibe.

$17 i ordered bistec salteado and i have to eat rice alone because they serve like meat leftovers or something i got a whole bowl of pure fat parts barely any meat and i payed alot of money for this

I paid 13 dollars for what’s supposedly chicharrón de pollo sin hueso. I don’t know if this is a jersey thing but in New York you get actual chunks of boneless chicken with lime. #disappointed ♀️

I ordered a Bistec Encebollado, which is simply steak and onions. They brought out a dish that was flooded with a brown sauce. The steak was barely noticeable. The menu does not mention this at all.
Someone in my party ordered the pasta with lobster but was disappointed to discover an empty lobster shell placed for decoration. Yes, the pasta had some pieces of lobster, but he felt deceived. He also explained that the white sauce was too watery.
The pluses are that the place is spacious, the bathrooms are kept very clean, and there is live, musical entertainment with karaoke and a bit of dance space.
