Mad Mex Waterworks is a good standard Tex Mex with ample portions per price, good service & fresh ingredients. I visited and used my complimentary Birthday Burrito. My server “Bruce” was attentive, accommodating and recommended somome great options. They have a nice Happy hour deal for drafts, bottles & spirit based specials. I enjoyed the Modelos. I also tacked on an extra salad with those great avocado based dressings. Portions were plenty so a to-go box was needed but no problem. Maybe an issue, if you don’t know what you want and will be perusing the menu, try to sit by a window. Lighting is ALWAYS dim to give you that moody Mexican cantina feel. You also have the typical quirky texex decor.

We are from our of the area, but have eaten at the North Hills location over the years. We are visiting family, and last year they had the Gobblerita which they were excited returned this fall. It’s basically a Thanksgiving dinner in a flour tortilla, covered in gravy. They were happy with their meals but think it may not have been quite as good as last year. I am a lover of Poutine and saw they had it on their seasonal menu. It was decent enough, but they should call it faux poutine as it’s a loose impersonation of Poutine. In fairness, it was tasty and I did enjoy it. The service was a bit slow, especially as the restaurant was fairly quiet when we were there. Overall a good lunch for a fair price.

We came to Mad Mex on a Thursday evening after Chili’s had a wait. Why would Chili’s have a wait on a Thursday, it’s mid. Anyways, I’m glad we came to Mad Mex, because it was a way better experience than the one we would have gotten at Chili’s.
I’m more familiar with the Mad Mex on Highland, and I have to say that this location is gorgeous. The decor is wonderful, and I love the seating options. All of the staff are incredibly amicable and helpful. The food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious, I loved the triple dipper option. I plan on coming back, this was clearly the best place to eat at Waterworks.

This was my first visit to Mad Mex. I will definitely be returning. I was excited to find a place that offered vegan options. The vegan burrito I ordered was delicious. Bonus points for also having numerous NA drink options. I look forward to trying something off the NA menu on my next visit. Also, this place is kid friendly and kids meals include a dessert.

Me and my boyfriend went to the bar to grab a drink while we waited for our table. The bar tender was immediately rude, implying we were underage. We are almost 30. I understand you have to check IDs and I have no issue with that but she was treating us like ours were fake. She then gave us margaritas that had absolutely no alcohol in them. I didn’t touch mine after the first two sips. When we were eventually seated I told the waiter that I thought my drink was not what I had ordered. He said he would fix it, took the practically untouched drink and brought me a new one. This one had just a whiff of alcohol but at least it wasn’t watery marg mix. When we received the bill he charged us for the marg that he implied was to correct the first one. The food was fine but I will not be back to this madmex.

Went here on a Wednesday evening. Place was decently busy but no wait. Our menus had guacamole on them which was kinda gross. Waitress was fine, good service. I always love the decor at Mad Mex, and this location was really nice in that department. We got chicken fajitas, the beanie quesadilla with chicken, and a side of fries. Food was pretty good, the fajitas were garlic heavy, which I loved. The drinks were a little small for the price though.

I was really pleasantly surprised by the service and food this time around. It feels like they’ve only gotten _better_ over time (I haven’t been in a while). I had some vegetarian tacos which were so good, genuinely surprised and delighted; and the service was fast and professional. What a well run business.

A couple things worth noting: burritos are more like fork food than finger food (they’re square), and fries were good but nothing particularly special.

The food here is good, Mexican, and plenty. The service is quick, thanks Taylor. We got the watermelon strawberry margarita which was the only thing that could be improved. It was served in a water glass which was a bummer. The rest of the experience was good.

The food was extremely mediochre. I got chips with three choices of dips. The queso was too watery. The salsa did not taste sweet, salty, or spicy. It was very boring and bland. The guacamole unfortunately had the same result. I lowkey wish I had gone to the Chipotle next door because their food would’ve tasted better at a far better price. The chips and dips were 14, the skinny marg was 12, and the buffalo chicken tacos were 16. The tacos came with beans and rice. They were oddly messy because of the odd shape of the chicken tenders. I wish they had cut the chicken up. The crust was good and the chicken itself was tender. The pickle in the tacos was giving more chikfila than mexican. It threw me off and I wasn’t interested in eating more than half a taco. The skinny marg was sour and packed a punch so be prepared if you get it. My meal was $50.

I absolutely loved the atmosphere and received top-notch customer service. What I didn’t care for was the taste of the food. It was greatly presented and looked scrumptious, but after multiple bites of trying to convince myself that it tastes as good as it looks, it just didn’t.
