This is a very small place run by two grandmas. Don’t expect some fast, talkative service. They take their time and it feels like you’re at their house. Their Korean knife-cut noodles and cold soy milk noodles were really good. The dumplings were decent; I did wish for more filling in some of them.
All in all, it was well worth the visit. Might return!

Really good black bean Kong-guksu. Made to order, huge portion, and strong soybean flavor accentuated by nutty sesame. I also think the kimchi was really great–definitely on the saltier side, but that complimented the more mild-tasting dish I ordered. Very friendly service too.

Just left this restaurant, and I am so happy we decided to stop in! Two amazing ladies working here, they realized we didn’t speak Korean and did their best to explain the food and menus to us. The whole experience was like eating with family! And the noodles are soooo good, and you get a huge bowl! I cannot recommend this place enough

The place is small, but we always manage to find a table. We’ve been here about 3-4 times; and everytime, we have left satisfied. If you like noodles and can afford the flour based, and high in carbs deliciousness, try it out!

They had a management change 2 years ago. I cannot forget how good it was before. To me, this place used to be the king of Bajirak Kalguksu 바지락 칼국수 and had a very decent Samgyetang 삼계탕. But now it is just a mediocre noodle place. First I noticed we were the only customer at 6:30 pm Thursday, uh-oh. All side dishes did not meet expectation. I would think everyone would agree that kimchi is crucial to Kalguksu place. Broth was a bit run down in Kalguksu, but I liked the Samgyetang broth, and it is the best feature of this place. It does carry strong smell of boiled chicken, which I like but many don’t, especially ladies. The big problem with the Samgyetang was that the chicken was overcooked and brittle. Potato and Korean zucchini in Kalguksu were paper thin, but the noodle itself was good. The clams were cheaper kind, and it was just normal portion, not the heaping portion I still remember from 2 years ago.

Can a place be too cozy and family style???
You decide. The food is great and really authentic. Metered parking. Prices are good. They have been here a long time. I would say over 35 years.

Excellent food with large quantity, best noodle I’ve ever had. I will definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested in authentic Korean noodle to come here.

Best Kalgooksoo in town hands down. I literally tried all the Kalgooksoo in NJ & NY and this place is the best of all. Always fresh, always tasty, always cooked with love. I would give 10 stars if I could. A must try Kalgooksoo for all noodle lovers!!!

FYI: this restaurant is undergoing a change in management. We wanted to come on Jan 21, 2023 but it was closed because of that. Apparently they will reopen “soon”.
Otherwise, heard great things about this place!

Very small with limited seating. Can get cramped if it is busy. Food selection is minimal but if you are going there specifically for what they make you won’t be disappointed. Service was good and friendly.
