The District has a modern, stylish interior with great mood lighting and mellow background music. It’s a bit noisy, especially from the adjoining bar area. The staff was attentive and friendly.

The reserve wine list leans heavily toward California producers. It would be nice to see more variety, maybe a few more Old World options beyond the lone Friuli Pinot Grigio. We chose the 2023 Daou Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles, which delivered bold dark fruit flavors and a hint of bell pepper, with a long finish.

We started with The District’s Burrata, served with fresh tomatoes, basil oil, and 10-year balsamico. Our server suggested adding ciabatta, and it made all the difference. The burrata itself was perfectly creamy with a delicate knot on top, rich yet balanced by the acidity of the tomatoes and balsamic.

For entrees, we both had the Filet au Poivre, seared in cast iron with a pepper crust, port wine demi-glace, whipped potatoes, and vegetables. It was cooked exactly medium rare, tender enough to cut with a fork, and absolutely delicious.

We spent just over $200, so this is definitely a special occasion spot, and worth it. My only suggestions for improvement: upgrade the glassware to something more fitting of the wine list, and if possible, address the noise from the bar to make the dining room feel a bit more refined.

All in all, a great experience: excellent food, attentive service, and a stylish space that’s easy to recommend for date nights or celebrations.

Had no idea this place was here as long as it has been.
The blacked redfish with crawfish was insanely delicious and perfectly prepared. I usually like it a bit spicier, but the flavors were outstanding. The filet au pouvire my wife had was perfectly prepared, and you can’t possibly go wrong with that.
Our server was just fantastic, handled our party of 10 with ease. 10/10 will return!

The District Eatery Tap & Barrel in Sanford is an excellent spot if you’re looking for a great atmosphere to enjoy some drinks. The drink prices are quite reasonable, making it a perfect place to relax and hang out with friends. The ambiance is super nice, with a cozy and modern vibe that makes you want to stay for a while.

The food menu looks spectacular, with dishes that appear absolutely delicious, though the prices are on the higher side. I haven’t tried the food yet, but I definitely plan to return to see if the flavors match the presentation.

The service was excellent, especially the bartender who served us…she was very kind and attentive. Overall, it’s a highly recommended spot if you’re in the area and want to enjoy some good drinks in a great atmosphere.

Our first time coming to this restaurant. We didn’t have reservations, but the host was very accommodating and they got us a table within five minutes. Our server Matthew, was amazing! His recommendations were above par. We had the mussels as appetizers, which blew us away with flavor. We both had a great old fashioned, and split an entree which was on special.
We will definitely come back and make reservations and look fwd to trying the redfish nawlins.

The atmosphere is very simple, but the food and service are fantastic. The Nawlins Snapper dish is full of flavor (not spicy), good portion size and you should definitely try it. The shrimp and pasta dish was also excellent! The cream sauce on the pasta was not heavy, it was light and flavorful. The creme brulee was good, nothing special. Depending on the time of year, you may need to get a reservation…. better safe than sorry.

Hands down THE best restaurant of this type of food any place around. Outstanding, consistent quality. All served in a timely manner. No wonder it’s packed and turning people away. A true gem!!!

The food is absolutely amazing! Some of the best food I’ve ever had! And I love that they do a chefs special every day. The only reason I gave it a 3 star is because service is just ok. When we’ve been here and sat at the bar, service was phenomenal. But sitting at a table, it seemed that our server only came once in a while. After eating, the rest of my party went to the car and I waited over 10 minutes trying to get the attention of our server for some to go boxes but it seemed she was avoiding me.. very odd and awkward.. We will probably come here again but will just sit at the bar.

We’ve been multiple times and everything we tried has been delicious. Huge fan of the Short rib and Trout. The pork chop is also fantastic, it’s hard to decide what I want.

Ordered a Filet med and it came out well. When we told our waitress she had no issue helping. Before the food came back out the owner came out with a photo on her phone saying the filet was med and we cut to close to the end. I think this is really inappropriate behavior from an owner and I will never return here!

Our waitress Natalie was wonderful and did help us out as best she could.

We enjoyed it very much, food and drinks were almost perfect.

I had the spiked blueberry lemonade and my husband had a mango beer and both drinks were delicious.

We had the shrimp dip and it was perfect.

My husband had the trout and that was perfection…everything in that plate was tasty and cooked perfectly

I had the filet mignon, I ordered it medium well and I know is difficult to cook a filet mignon than way because is a thick cut…. But they bunt it, so the meat had a little burnt crust that tasted like charcoal….. I was hungry and I didn’t want to complain so I just took the crust out and eat it…. It was delicious without that.
