I’ve also gone through the drive-thru and gotten breakfast tacos, and they were also delicious, with plenty of filling. They don’t skimp on the eggs and other ingredients and give you a scraggly little taco like other taco places around here tend to do. Highly recommend this place, whether you go through the drive-through or take the time to sit down in there very clean and generally quiet dining area. They’re also very attentive and come around periodically to make sure everything’s okay and see if you need anything. Definitely far better food and better service than I would have expected from a place that is attached to a gas station.
We didn’t get free chips and salsa, so that was a bit disappointing, but overall it was a great experience.
Don’t let its location fool you—Acapulco Mexican Restaurant Express, tucked inside a small shopping center next to a gas station, is an absolute treasure. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm “hello” and a genuine smile. That kind of hospitality makes a difference, and it immediately sets the tone for a great dining experience.
This is a walk-up, order-at-the-counter type of place, with self-seating options. You can either sit at a table or at the side bar overlooking the kitchen—both are great choices, depending on your mood. I personally love that setup because it adds to the charm and casual, inviting atmosphere.
Now, let’s get to the food—because WOW. I ordered the bacon and egg mix plate, which came with beans and potatoes, and I had the option of corn or flour tortillas. I went with corn (my favorite), and they were soft, warm, and perfect. My husband got a carne guisada taco and a chorizo, potato, and egg taco on flour tortillas. Every bite was packed with flavor, and you could taste the authenticity and freshness in every dish.
Our drinks came out quickly, followed by our food, which was served hot and fresh. The meal also came with green and red salsa—both were fantastic, but the red salsa was my favorite with its bold, flavorful kick.
And now, let’s talk about price—because this might be the best part. $13.50 for everything! That’s almost unheard of for food this good, this fresh, and this filling.
Between the friendly service, delicious food, and unbeatable prices, Acapulco Mexican Restaurant is a hidden gem that deserves way more attention. We will absolutely be back, and if you’re looking for a fantastic, affordable Mexican meal, I highly recommend you give this place a try!
