Amazing birthday dinner. We got the stuffed banana peppers for an appetizer – delicious. NY strip was easily the best steak ever – perfectly cooked and seasoned. The gnocchi with rose sauce was amazing as well – had to take the rest home as the portion sizes were great for the price. Cocktails were just right and made to my order.
Danielle was a great server, who made our night very special and elegant. Food delivery was timed perfectly as well as prompt drink service!
Will be back next time we are in New York!

Always amazing food and service. We’re very thankful to have such a beautiful Restaurant in Niagara Falls, NY. / ‘Fortuna’s’ was always the best in Niagara Falls when compared to ‘The Como’ ( closed forever ) and ‘Michael’s’ ( destroy by fire with a mysterious future if any ) Authentic Italian Cuisine and comfortable atmosphere. Perfect Lasagna ! Perfect Salads and excellent wine selections. If you’re visiting Niagara Falls on the United States side of the border don’t miss this classic all time ultimate original experience !

I have to be honest, I was a little skeptical of this place. The neighborhood its located in doesnt seem all that great. However, the building is very attractive, well maintained, and has plenty of parking. I have to assume that the restaurant was there long before the decline of the neighborhood. The inside of the restaurant is inviting. The decor is tastefully done. The lighting is elegant, and the mix of music played created that old school italian vibe.
Alcoholic drinks were reasonably priced and well balanced. They also have a wide variety of red wines to choose from.
If there is one thing I thought was lacking, it was the presentation of my plate. A little nitpicky, I know, but when you charge $30 for a plate, you are in a class where presentation is important. However, the meal I had was wonderful. It was a generous portion, and tasted fresh.
Where I feel this restaurant excelled was in the service. Our server was very attentive. She checked on us several times throughout the meal. The bussers were also very quick to clear any empty plates or trash of the table. A+ service experience. Very rare these days!
However, my favorite part was the cannolis for dessert! We had a great experience here. We came tired and hungry, and left happy, full, and with a slight buzz. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you live in or are visiting the falls. You will be impressed!

We went to Fortuna’s for dinner this weekend. The service is fantastic, the ambience is pleasant, and the food is delicious.

However.

If you look at the picture I attached, you will see that their default method of serving chicken cacciatore is “deconstructed”: spaghetti in a small bowl, chicken cacciatore in the other.

Nobody I know does this; nobody! I’ve never seen chicken cacciatore served in this manner, either at peoples’ homes or in restaurants. I know it’s common to separate them in Italy, but I think that it’s safe to say that in Niagara Falls, most people are more familiar with Italian American cooking. And in Italian American cooking, chicken cacciatore is served all together, not in separate dishes.

It was delicious, but when I asked why they were served separately, I was told that some people don’t like chicken cacciatore served with the spaghetti in it. If people request it, they will serve it together in one dish.

You then have two options: eat them separately (weird to me!) or ask them for yet another plate on which you yourself “mix” your chicken cacciatore (unnecessary and awkward).

My question: since most people I know don’t eat chicken cacciatore separately from the spaghetti, why does Fortuna’s default to separating them? It’s nice that they’ll put them together if you request it, but who would think to request such a thing when that’s not how the dish is usually served? It seems like a small thing, but restaurants like Fortuna’s should have understood this and

Fortunately, there’s an easy fix: Fortuna’s should tell the waiters and waitresses to offer the two ways when a customer says they want chicken cacciatore. Easy! Again, the dish is delicious, but Fortuna’s needs to make this small fix to spare people this situation in future.

(Also, one more odd thing: if you look at the sauce the cacciatore is in, and you look at the sauce over the spaghetti, they are different. Weird, but at least they were tasty!)

I had visited this restaurant 15 years ago, and it was so good, it left an impression. I revisited this restaurant, after making expecting similar. I ordered the specialty 4 course meal. The stuffed pepper was okay but small. The soup was wonderful but also incredibly small, then the meal stopped. The chicken Parmigiana showed up and it was hammered so thin, we couldnt taste anything but oil and grease, we weren’t even certain it was chicken as it was possibly veal. The spaghetti was supposed to be penne and it was overcooked. The red sauce but literally just that, basically tomato sauce. No flavor. No seasoning. Even the cheese on top of the parm was generic and awful. This was the main course, pitiful. I ordered the ice cream for dessert, I got half a scoop of freezer burned, hard ice cream by my guess breyers or less. Yuck. The server Alyssa was amazing. Fun, great, attentive to detail, no complaints there. Too bad the chef failed. I left hungry and very disappointed.

As mentioned in other reviews, I was skeptical due to the location, but this place was well worth it. The service was excellent. My husband and I had soups for starters (cream of broccoli and chicken with pastina) and Penne Bolognese and Seafood Fra diavolo for mains. The soups were delicious. The Bolognese was tasty, but the star was the seafood pasta. The scallops were cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. There was also a generous number of shrimp in the dish.

My husband and I and our very good friends went for dinner here Sunday (1-18-26) our waiter was Dave and we thought right away he was new we don’t know so we were patient we didn’t have drinks and he wanted to take our order. Food was warm, no taste very bland and took a long time to get then our bill was wrong we really didn’t notice just ready to split the bill and Dave comes back to inform us it was wrong, fine but not because of Dave we won’t be returning here. Because of the food quality.
Thank You

Great dining experience! Food was great-server was wonderful with suggestions! Water glasses never empty! I had the flirtini cocktail and it was ! We shared the Italian salad (homemade dressing was awesome) and gluten free pasta with bolognese. Two of us didn’t even finish it! Huge portion. We also had the mozzarella garlic bread which my partner said was awesome and ate every slice:). Great family place!!! Try it!

We went last night for dinner, nice environment, the service was really good. I ordered the shrimp scampi and it was good. My brother order the lasagna but we all agreed that even it was tasty it had way too much sauce. In general food was ok, the bread they brought to the table was cold , they should have bring it warm.
