Finding this place takes a little effort — it’s tucked away on the second floor of a market, so it’s not immediately obvious. But once you get there, it’s worth it.

The shrimp was rich, buttery, and packed with flavor. Just be ready to peel them yourself — they come with the shells on, which honestly adds to the experience (and the flavor).

Service was friendly and helpful. One important tip: parking can be discounted, but you have to ask your server for the QR code to scan. Good to know before you pay full price.

Overall, the prices are much better than Waikīkī, especially for the quality and portion size. If you’re craving garlic shrimp without the tourist markup, this is a solid choice.

If you can’t make the drive to the North Shore, this Kakaako location is a total win. I tried several garlic shrimp plates during my stay in Hawaii, and this was hands down the best one.
I ordered the #1 Scampi, and it was excellent—the shrimp was incredibly fresh, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor (Garlic-ky goodness). The portions are also very generous; one plate was plenty for two people to share. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area. Mahalo!

Kahuka Hi Giovanni’s Shrimp food truck, busiest place in it’s location. The original Giovanni’s location. Lots of outdoor covered seating, free parking, fast service even if there is a line, which is always. Shrimp Scampi which is they’re most popular dish was excellent as is the rest of there menu items. This is a great
place to stop location wise because there are bathrooms and other place to shop or pick up those important vacation momentous. Don’t know why google posted this as Honalulu location, it’s actually the truck in Kahuka.

I absolutely love this place for the garlic shrimp scampi! You order and they give you a number to pick up when ready. We got the scampi to share and it was a perfect amount. The flavor was delicious and I love that they put the garlic all over the rice!

There’s a food court style open seating area with lots of tables. We went with a big family group and everyone got whatever food they wanted.

Located on second floor of HMART with affordable parking garage you pay with by QR code validation.

I love the heck out of Giovanni’s because they just serve up the best garlic shrimp plate around. The shrimp is fresh and flavorful with the delicious garlic sauce and the portions are generous. I can eat the rice alone with the sauce on top. I love it that this location has a wall of signature/tags of different people that have passed on by this place just reminiscent of the truck in North Shore. If you can’t make it up there to Haleiwa, this Kaka’ako location will satisfy your garlic shrimp itch.
There’s 3 ways you can get up to the food hall to this place. First method is to go inside HMart and find a set of stairs that lead you up to the Food Hall area(stairs are near the appliance/rice cooker area). Second way is to take the elevator thats near the set of stairs inside HMart. The third way to get up to the food hall area is to take a set of stairs thats on the side of the HMart entrance. Theres plenty of seats in the food court for you to sit and chill and enjoy your meal.

Couldn’t make it to the North Shore and randomly found this place in Kakaako. I tried a few garlic shrimp plates during my stay in Hawaii, and I’d say this place served the best one. I ordered the number one dish on the menu, which was excellent and generous enough to share between two people.

The shrimp was surprisingly good as well—very fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavour. It balanced really well with the garlic shrimp and made the plate even more satisfying. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re in the area.

I Loved the dish! It looks such a simple dish yet very delicious.
Also they are super fast giving food. Before I would realize the food was ready.
Since, it’s a food court they have other food spots too
It’s located in the second floor of HMart which is Perfect place because before or after doing grocery this could be a great spot to have your meal.
Highly recommend to try it out.

The garlic shrimp was excellent!
We went to an indoor location near Waikiki inside a food court. Otherwise I would have rated atmosphere a 5.

Was so excited to be able to enjoy Giovannis without having to drive up to the north shore, but this location kinda disappointed. To their credit, the shrimp was hot and seemed fresh, but overall it was pretty disappointing. Not sure if it was bottom of the barrel, but the garlic butter seemed old and kinda paste-y and dried out. Also the woman working had her infant behind the counter with her. I understand how hard and frustrating childcare can be, but there has to be a line for food safety handling purposes.

It was good! But I’m glad I came to this location (food court above H Mart) versus the food truck because I’m not sure if it’s worth waiting in a longggg line for. Shrimps aren’t peeled, hot sauce was quite spicy but paired really well with the garlic shrimp.
